BUSH

Like I said, there's oil and many other valuable resources. It IS like Somalia and Rwanda in the sense that joining either side would be wrong and cause more enemies against us. I am a Democrat, I just have moderate views. I like to look at both arguments before I make my own decision. I guarentee I have a better source of info on Sudan than probably anyone that's posted in this thread. I go to school with 3 kids who lived in Sudan for almost 20 years. I know what's happening there, what resources are there, why the US won't intervene, and what life is like there. Don't try to talk down to me on this subject, because it's not going to happen.

So yeah, this thread was doomed the second someone put on the title.

You know why right wingers hate left wingers so much? Because we're fucking annoying pricks. And this thread demonstratets that. And yet I can't help noticing that even the densest of the left wing wanks on here, people who have basically no idea what the fuck they're babbling about but babble on regardless (just try and stop 'em), have at least 4 or 5 little tidbits of fact (which we've all heard a dozen times, don't get me wrong) to toss out as to why they hate so much. And you know, I believe that they're legitimately pissed about these things even if they don't fully understand them; they're not just trying to be cool. "No there weren't any fucking WMDs, you assholes" is a pretty easy concept to grasp the basics of.

The idiot right (the vast swath of morons who type angrily in all caps in a vain hope to partially disguise not only their ignorance about the topic at hand but their incredible base stupidity in general), meanwhile, find one or two guys who can make a coherent point, and rally behind them like a herd of swine, quoting them and making comments like "YEAH YOU GAY LIBERAL ASHOLES Y DONT U JUST DIE", or, rather than addressing problems, saying "Did MTV tell you to say that?" ... Newsflash, mtv fucking sucks. If anyone told them to say that, it was Jack Cafferty.

I have a sneaking suspicion that no one talks about politics to be cool or fit in. No 1 way to never get laid: talk about politics all the time. I have another sneaking suspicion that underlying all the anger from the idiot right is the fact that a vast majority of them are just discomforted by the prospect that there might be homos lurking around...

My point: My side's idiots are better than your side's idiots! Even if they are annoying and arrogant for no reason!

Im not trying to talk you down at all I agree with you when I said lets find oil in solmalia It was a joke. I work for Anadarko which is a major petroleum company and I am a petroleum engineer. I know about oil. If you truly believe the us has more president in Iraq than Somalia then thats your opinion but you would be wrong.

wow you are truly a self rightous prick...

"then that's your opinion, but your wrong..."

saying peoples OPINIONS are wrong, wow you must be waaaay cooler and waaay smarter than anyone else in the world.

I beg to differ, but thats not a discussion for this train wreck of a thread.

Solid post regardless though.

I never said there was more president, I said it was a clearer situation. Our enemy was clear. In many African countries, there isn't an obvious enemy. I'm not saying Iraq was the right choice, just that the enemy was Saddam and his regime. In Somalia many different "clans" make up the "government" and there are many governments in those countries.

Im not smarter than everyone... just you.

Look think whatever you want about Bush the war in Iraq the state of OUR union, its your right and the goal of the president isnt to please everyone just the right people. For Bush the right people are the 5% of corporate super upper class Americas that make millions while the rest of us work our asses off. Im not saying that they didnt work hard to get where they are just that once they got there they said fuck everyone else.

As soon as bush was elected his plan was to invade Iraq. Before 911 he already had two plans written up one was to stage a faux coup and elemniate Sadam and then install another Frakenstein. His second plan was to stage a 360 day invasion. Colin Powell actually supported the first plan. After 911 a solution presented its self and now 5 years later here we are. They actually wernt bushes plans he is not smart enough but he approved them. My source is Armed Madhouse bu Greg Palast if you want to look it up.

I personally feal that what is going on in Africa is far more terrifing and at least the US should preform a peace keeping survice but there is no money in peace keeping.

I feel that history will look back at the Bush admistration and frown. He will become our biggest embarasment and regret. If you dont feal this way then I am sorry but you need to reconsinder your thinking. You prick haha

What I dislike about the Republican/Christian Coalition and Bush is their hypocrisy.

-They claim to occupy the morale high ground, yet it is Republicans who have been involved in large scandals involving lobbying scams, inappropriate conduct with teenagers, and Valerie Plame.

-They are avidly Pro-Life, yet many are strongly pro-death penalty as well.

-They claim to furthur the causese of education yet want to teach creationism in public science classes.

-They claim to seek a smaller government, yet have overseen its rapid expansion.

-Bush took an oath to defend the constitution, yet has been more than willing to compromise individual rights to fight the war on terror.

Beyond the hypocrisy there is also blunders in Iraq that mar this administration. Among them are:

-Invading Iraq rashly without a good exit strategy or international support

-"Mission Accomplished"

-Keeping an insufficient amount of soldiers in Iraq, then rebuking generals when they requested more

-Gravely underestimating the insurgency throughout 2003-2004.

agreed. in all reality i of hope that the congress gets a big shake up in november... then we will really be able to better gauge whats going wrong as a result of lame leadership and whats just at difficult situation, and would be bad regardless.

it sucks when your own party strays from the ideals that made you vote for them over the other guy to begin with... whatever.

Ok, how could we send in a "peacekeeping" force into a civil war? We can't we will be seen as an enemy and be involved in the fighting. They want us to stay the hell out of it. For humanitarian efforts, something really should be done, but the question is how without creating another vietnam situation or another Korea situation. If we intruded onto the land, they would probably tell us to get out or they will fight us out. We can't pick a side to forcefully help, we need to do it through negotiation, if we went in as a "peacekeeping" force, there would be a lot of bloodshed.

yeah he's not actually running the show. it's that fat fuck cheney and karl rove. they're the brains(or lack there of) of the operation

oh yea completely bush's fault that the hurricane happened. i mean what kind of president can't even control mother nature?

yes...but they are not making the decision to have the war or not now, the decision was already made...and there are plenty of republicans that still support the president, for what reasons I couldn't possibly fathom, but I guess they have their own ideas about the president that I cannot understand.

You are so fuckin dumb dont you know that that in his early days at college Bush took a meterology course? Well he fucking did. After becoming president Bush decided to put this knowledge into use. He returned to his farm in Texas and started gathering supplies ie clearing brush. Once enough brush was cleared bush began his work constructing the MegloWeatherATron once it was complete a terrible accident occured causing the machine to manafest a hurrican. Hurricane Katrina. Bush Couldent send in any supplies or help or even summon the nation guard untill all traces of his machine were destroyed so he sent in the Finnish air force which flew nearly 6 times the distance and still made it there before US national guard. They then cleaned up the mess but the damage was done so bush said fuck it there niggers any way.

yo dumbass you aee that huge thing over there! no? what the fuck it was right in front of your face how could you have missed it?

oh nevermind it was just the point

no dude, you'r esoooooooooo wrong.

its "you hate america" or "you're not supporting the troops by protesting the legitimicy of the war" or "you're helping the terrorist win" or "you secular asshole" or "in a time of "war" its totally cool for the president to destroy the constituion and adopt dictator-esque power"

word.

yeah i disagree with lots of shit he does...but its not like hes gonna get impeached tomorrow...

im sorry. i really am.

He should be impeached and thrown in jail for the crimes he has commitited against the world, the America people, and the fundamental basis on which this nation is founded.

yes, and your godsend to this earth Bill Clinton should have been... oh wait he was for getting his dick sucked in the goddamn oval office!

i think we need to all step back for a second and think about how terrible a president we would consider bush were he not wielding the 9/11 mandate. 9/11 conspiracies are super-extra-special "bus-so-short-you-have-to-drive-it-yourself" retarded...and i feel semi like adick for saying this, but that was the worst thing that has ever happened to our country completely excluding anysort of personal/emotional loss

America is fucked, but i would still rather be in a world with them , than some other super power.

I'm gonan drop a big bomb here.... -"Industrial Military Complex"   - gotta get rid fo that.

Well, it's fairly clear that he's committed numerous breaches of international law in terms of committing first-strike wars without adequate evidence, if you care about that kind of thing.

And there was the whole NSA wiretapping thing sans the approval of FISA courts.

And all the torture, which can't really be legalized ex post facto even if congress does unilaterally grant the executive branch the "right" (I laugh at the misapplication of the term) to reinterpret Geneva Conventions III. To which the US is a party.

And the de facto repeal of Habeus Corpus is pretty much a slap in the face to the rule of law in general.

Detaining innocent Canadians without charging them for indefinite periods isn't cool. Taking them to foreign countries to torture them without trial isn't much cooler.

Probably several dozen other things I either don't know about or am forgetting.

But you know, nothing serious.

But impeachment would suck, because Cheney is first in line and guess who's #2... Denny Hastert! That corruption just filters all the way down, don't it.

don't even start on denny hastert, there is no ividence against him whatsoever... liberals just want to smar anyone they can before the elections. show me ivedence that he or Dick Cheney have done anything wrong and i'll believe you. you have no idea it is to hear everyday" dick cheney, karl rove, puppets, impeach them all, blah blah blah..." liberals use the same terms over and over without any grounds, and eventually people like you and FTP become brainwashed into believing them.

p.s. i apologize for putting you name in the same sentance with that whack job.

Brainwashed... what a cop out. I've been talking about most of this crap since before the media got ahold of it. I wrote articles on this administration's "involvement" with the finer points of the Geneva Conventions way back in 2004. As far as "evidence" goes, it doesn't get much better than a paper that says "I agree with the conclusion of the Justice Department that I have the legal authority to suspend the Geneva Conventions" signed by the president. Now, two years later, we have the same topic, the same position, and more to say, and now it's cable-news-worthy.

As for Denny Hastert, all we have is basically his word against everyone else's, and someone, probably at least three someones, is lying. I'm pretty sure Boehner's one of 'em. Hastert needs to stop follwing the GOP line and spewing the talking points though; there's pretty much no way to pin this on the democrats no matter how your guys might like to exonerate themselves. The frantic in-party he-said-she-said over the past week is evidence enough of how impossible this is to spin. Hastert said it himself; the buck stops with him. His senior staffers were informed of this, he was informed in a political context last spring, and he didn't do anything, and neither did anyone else. It's his responsibility, whether he actively did anything wrong or not, he was negligent.

But that's not what the thread's about at all! Way to hijack.

i haven't gotten involved with politics because i realy just don't know what to do, an di feel like i'd just be useless. however, i think i'm going to have to next month just because politcs in this country would get really really awesome if dems manages to get a majority in both houses.

as far as crimes are concerned yea he is slowly destroying the civil liberties on which the country was founded, and the whoel illegal war thing is kind of moot because its been done for more than a deacde now...i really don't know what exactly the law would be (proably the international treaties you mention), but the whoel manipulation of the american people/obvious lying about the justification for the war in iraq has to account for something. if clinton can be impeached for lying about sex (under oath)...someone needs to get bush on the stand and ask him about his knowledge of the validity of his talking points for the war on iraq (WMD's, al-quaeda---iraq connections) and then we can really get going. his manipulation of the american people is just astounding (anyone seen the vid with him and matt lauer..."matt, these peopel are trying to kill your family"). whatever i'm drifting, but bush really needs to be examined on the stnad about th war in iraq...the precedent it sets is fuckign scary. thats the worst part about bush by the way; the precedetn he is setting invites future presidents to inflate the power of the executive branch so much. scary stuff.

impeachment would be awesome. the international perception of america would change overnight. that would be sweet.

Bush this Bush that, Blah blah blah. Democrats have not a leg to stand on when it comes down to the issues. Their plans change with the wind and their political platform is Impeach Bush ya ya!. They dont understand why people still support Bush and I'll tell you, its because he stands for something, along with the republican party. The ONLY reason why Democrats might win back the house this November is from pliticizing this Foley issue just like in this link. http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/10/06/foley.ad/index.html

BUt I dont blame most of you kids for leaning left because you know what they say....

"If you are not a democrat at 18 you dont have a heart, but if you are not a republican by 24 you dont have a brain"

ahahahah. so just because he and supposedly all republicans "stand for something," any grievances are forgiveable?

and since you mention the foley issue, what is it, exactly, that republicans stand for? i hope you understand the irony while you try to explain that.

stands for? morals? religion? protection of american life? hating terrer?

as a republican if you can't agree that bush's "protecting american families" is not at least part rhetoric than you sir are retarded. if you think dems wouldn't be doing the saem fuckign thing then you are even more retarded. if you don't recognize that he's fuckign rubbing his "protection of america" and "fear of terror" in people's faces to justify some pretty radical reforms than fuck you. he falls back on issues everyone agrees on (that terrorism is bad) whenever he is attacked. someone tried to argue that dems flame bush every time elections come around, but bush brings up stuff like "terrorists killing american families, and the war for civilization" every time elections come around. he is simply manipulating human weakness and fears (a mysterious evil force is going to destroy something that everyone cherishes most)

poltically thinking that the ends justifies the means never fucking works. and for that matter what do we even solve when we catch osama or any other terrorist leaders? they are only quickly replaced by their inferiors, thats the recycling nature of a terrorist organization, taking out individuals does nothing, you must fight them this way, but you must also try to defeat their rhetoric (not by invading iraq and increasing anti-american sentiment and terrorist recruitment), and not make their actions look so justified.
