i believe kerry had every opportunity to win this election: he had the education system, the war, taxes, and a general need for change, yet he just couldnt get it done. america wanted change, he just didnt run a good enough campaign. he had all the pieces to the puzzle, he just couldnt connect them....

Interestingly enough, most Americans are unhappy with the path out country is being led down, but the second biggest reason people voted for bush was his leadership skills. So...we don't like the way he leads, but we like his leadership skills. Well those are just exit polls, which are notoriously flawed, but whatever.

What makes me angry at the Dems is the pure volume of shit we could call the Republicans on. Here are my top 5 subjects that should have had massive amounts of ads run on them:

5. Minorities--Bush never meets with minority group leaders

4. 2000 elections in Florida--borderline criminal activities of the Bush campaign

3. Economy and social security--Bush said he'd put some of the trillions of dollars of surplus at the start of his term towards SS, now we have a defecit and social security is going to be partially privatized...way to go president bush

2. Jobs and minimum wage--jobs were lost, outsourced, and millions of americans are working for 5.15 an hour, not a LIVING WAGE. Kerry planned to raise minimum wage to 8 dollars an hour.

1. Pre-Iraq planning and intelligence, WMD info. Now we are behind on every deadline in Iraq, Afghanistan may soon become a similar situation. The new, much-touted 'democracy' in Iraq is so incredibly weak that barely any Iraqis recognize it, and it would be slaughtered if we pulled out. And why should it hold any authority, when the thousands of policemen Bush promised to train don't exist?

All this and now we are going to have to deal with North Korea and Iran. If we don't reconcile with our allies and unite, then we are fucked. The EU may decide that China makes a better ally.

^^I'm surprised you didn't pick one particular issue, and it is the issue that I think Bush has done basically nothing about, and making v3ry bad desisions about(Keep in mind I am a Bush supporter):Borders. We need to keep our borders secure. I can't remember the statistics, but tons of illegal aliens got over the border, and many of them are potential terrorists. I agree with the stuff going on overseass to protect our country, but we have to protect ourselves here too. If Kerry had brought this up, I don't think Bush would have had much to support what he hasn't been doing. But Bush needs to secure our borders(mostly the mexi border) to keep the terrorists out.

Note:Some places along the US/MX border don't even have fences. You can walk straight across without knowing it.

umm... evoloution is a proven science dickhead.

Do you really think that everything came from some random cosmic fart of a big bang which they cant prove (or know what came before that)? the big bang theory and evoloution itselft is based on a lot of not-yet proven asumptions. Even if the big bang did happen, is it really plausable that human existance came about from a random act with a probabilty of happening being over a billion times less that of you winning the lottery? And while we're a talking science, a number that small itself would be considered by scientist to be zero. So in actual fact the big bang theory, and all of darwin's bullshit, is one big paradox.

But lets say, for one moment, that darwin's theory is correct. From past discoveries and the theory of evoloution, the cow as we know it today can be traced back to a whale like ancestor. This whale-like ancestor of the cow was very similary to the whale of today, that is, its big, swims under water and feeds on krill. Now this presents two problems;

1. Why did that whale-like ancestor have to evolve to survive, but the blue whale as we know it today is still fine?

2. If this whale-like creature evolved into a cow, at some point in time it had to be half way inbetween a cow and a whale. Such a creature would not be able to survive in water or out and would surly perish acording to Darwin's theory and not be able to keep on evolving into a cow. A large unagressive mammal unable to move quickly on ground or in water would have definately been an easy target for predators.

Now before i tell you to go fuck yourself, the previous point leads me to my last point for you to consider. If a whale had to evovle to much to become a cow, why has its basic reproduction method stayed the same? They are both still mammals which have sex, and the females bears and then gives birth to the young. Surly as a survival method, in the middle period, it would seem smarter that it learnt to reproduce asexually like some frogs and the majority of plants to continue survival. This half bred creature would have to be few and far between and would have been hunted down by predators before being able to 'find' each other to mate.

Hopefully by now you are not as narrow minded as you were before and can surely can see the paradox that darwin's theory presents

Which evolved first, how, and how long, did it work without the others?

The digestive system, the food to be digested, the appetite, the ability to find and eat the food, the digestive juices, or the body’s resistance to its own digestive juice (stomach, intestines, etc.)?

Hmm....what you Americans who are crying about Bush's religious bias fail to realize is that someone who is an atheist also has a bias, and that is against God. People who believe in traditional values find it as abhorent to give them up as the some liberals find those values themselves.

The election is over, and despite spending more money than Bush and waging the most expensive campiagn ever, Kerry lost. Keep in mind that BUSH GOT THE MOST VOTES OF ANY PRESIDENT, EVER, IN THE HISTORY OF THE USA. Thats not the 'religious right', thats the country making a democratic decision. All you liberals need to realize there aren't as many of you as you'd like to believe, you lost, so deal with it and stop crying.

That's one of those points that sounds convincing until you realize that there's a reason for it. I should bring this little fact to your attention...

And yes, you can call anything a bias. A secular bias is in favour of empirical reason, though, which is actually justifiable. Not to disagree wholeheartedly, as I'm anything but an atheist. I just don't think people should get away with making points that should be questioned somewhat...

 
Ok, looks like the other end of that link is broken. The point was that though he may have gotten 'more votes than any president in history', the population growth accounts for this very nicely. All he had to do was beat his own mark of 4 years ago, when he lost the popular vote. 3.2 million is not a particularly large margin of victory.

It's hard to say what was the exact first organism, but when water covered most of the earth, small simple organisms floated (thought to be cyanobacteria) around and used sunlight as their energy and realeased CO2 until a suitable atmosphere produced. their are buildups of them today that have been dated. they form rock pillars in shallow bays.

Er... the point was that it makes no sense to say 'mind your own business' to Canadians, especially given the stake they have in American politics. It's pretty hypocritical to say America can have as much effect as it wants on the world, but no one else can say anything about America. That's blatant nonsense.

I don't know if someone mentionned it, but it said in this month's National Geographic that 47% (about there, can't exactly remember) Americans believed that God created the universe as it is and that it is less than 10 000 years old. Check it yourself. Now THAT's a disturbing fact. It's not their fault though: it's very easy to manipulate uneducated people by coin phrases in politics and religion.

Canadian: why does a belief in God scare you? What are you afraid of? If you do some research on the issue, you will find that some of the smartest men of all time, including Albert Einstein, believed in God and Creation.

I personally don't understand the issue. In Canada and the US we have FREEDOM OF RELIGION. You should be free to chose to belive in God or not, Creation or evolution. Both are unproven theories, no matter what anyone says. Why is everyone so keen to keep a belief in God out of everything?
