Wouldn't it make good sense to have the loser (kerry) be the vice president? That way everyone is somewhat satisfied, and both parties would have to come to certain agreements.

we'd have to change the way we vote a lot to get that to work.

that's how it worked in the early elections (G.Washington/Adams, J. Adams/Jefferson).

Turned out that first of all, they hate each other, and secondly, the Vice President has no power anyways. He is just "A footnote in history," as jon stewert put it. Unless of course you are cheney and you run america behind the scenes. But that is only because bush is a puppet.

beside that, do you think it is a good idea?

How about joint executive power between two consuls? You republicans should like that... that's REAL republicanism.

you dont need that because the senate, house of reps, and supreme court all contribute to true balance

At 1st when we implemented it it would be kind of rocky but the country would benefit from it in my opinion. It was done years ago but no way they will go back to it no prez will put that plan in to action

I really don't think that's a good idea. The presidet is not a dictator; his power is limited by intentionally restrictive legistlature (shpelling?). If you wanna see a dictatorship, come to Canada, eh?

The whole point of two political parties is to have two different sides that totally don't agree on one point of view. Having Kerry and Bush would be like mixing water and oil. Just doesn't work.

Hahahaha, yeah, TAK, Canada's totally a dictatorship. Why isn't Bush liberating his neighbors to the north?

^ Not true so much though they were very critical of each other throughout the campaign if you look closely they really would make a compatible team they share many of the same views but on other views could work on certain compromise inother important issues

dude its a good idea, just like an 11% income tax, 11% of all your income goes, no matter who no matter what income level. It would be a lot less than we're paying right now and give the government much more money than they're presently getting. But not all good ideas get implimented. Bummer bout that. But dude, yeah having a vice prez and prez that dont share party affiliation would be pretty strange but i think it would help to unite the country as a whole... I doubt either repubs or dems would support it though

And as we proceed,

To Mosh through this desert storm,

In these closing statements, if they should argue

Let us beg to differ

As we set aside our differences

And assemble our own army

To disarm this Weapon of Mass Destruction

That we call our President, for the present

And Mosh for the future of our next generation

To speak and be heard

Mr. President, Mr. Senator

Do you guy's hear us...hear us...

^thats really never the case, on ALL issues

no, that should not be how it is, they were running against eachother, probably hate eachother, and have conflicting views.
