So I'm just getting ready to sleep so I turn on the tv and turn it to C-SPAN and there's Dennis Kucinich giving a speech talking about impeaching Bush.

Apparently its a 35-count resolution to impeach Bush. I don't know if this had been done but hopefully the senate will listen.

If anyone has more info on what's going on right now I'd love to hear.

i'm soo down for that. it's about time. say whatever you want about bush, 65% of the country thinks he blows. that's not a good number, bible bangers.

Haha very true. I just think this would be a big step for America if it happened. Almost as if we'd be able to forget about all the bad shit over the past 7 years.

yea at first it doesnt make sense to impeach him right before his terms over, but presidents always make their most contrversial decisions when there term is about to end.

theres different kinds of impeachment. even if he is it might not be out of power. clinton got impeached for a bj and he was still in power

im almost glad you have 0 karma. i gave you a 2, because even though its bad, its better than 0. unfortunately, it seems like youre one of those people who isnt well suited for intellectual conversation.

And much more. There were 35 counts against him making him able to be impeached. There was a whole list of reason, I might be able to find them on the internet.

if they can impeach a guy for a blowjob...then im pretty sure they can impeach someone for:

"misleading the public and congress about the threat from iraq"
"illegal wiretapping of american citizens"
"torture of prisoners"
"violation of international law"

look at look athttp://www.impeachbush.tv/ ...personally i don't care....rather not have cheney as president but his term is done anyway....i think the issue is pointless at this point in time...

here's the New York Times article about kuninich's attempt....
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/washington/AP-Kucinich-Impeachment.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=impeach+bush&st=nyt&oref=slogin

It seems kind of useless at this point, his term is coming to a close so why bother with it? He's finished anyway, and I wouldn't want to see Cheney with more control than he already has...

He is trying pretty hard to make peace in Palestine/Israel right now. Let's see if he does anything with this.

You forgot to mention that Bush sent the hurricane to Katrina, caused the world to hate us, biologically engineered aids himself, is responsible for Hiroshima, Nagasaki, World War 1, is the man to blame behind gas prices, and managed to kill Kenny.

So this is a thread about a Senator who is wasting time, but complaining about the government. That guy is a d-bag. Maybe he should do something important.

First of all, It doesn't even matter if he gets impeached, because after he's done in office, he is going to be charged with crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court in the Hague

Incase you don't know what the hague is, it's a city in the Netherlands, and is the location of the highest international court in the world. It is also where Slobodan Milosevic was tried for Genocide

Regarding the crime of Genocide, depending on where you look, there are a lot of dead Iraqis:One has to wonder how many dead people a genocide makes. In Bosnia, the ethnic cleansing was estimated at around 200,000. Milosevic stood trial at The Hague for that.Ok, crimes of genocide. Check. What about the crime of Aggression? Marjorie Cohn says:Bush’s new doctrine of “preemptive war” is a license to prosecute wars of aggression. It runs directly counter to the United Nations Charter’s prohibition on the use of armed force except in self-defense or when authorized by the Security Council. A preemptive war is a war of aggression. “Operation Iraqi Freedom” falls squarely into this category.Kofi Annan also challenged the US doctrine of preemptive war saying that it “posed a fundamental challenge to the United Nations and could lead to a global free-for-all.”So, crimes of aggression. Check.

The List

goes on and on.

And officials will say it's impossible for him to be tried, but this is not true. In the end, it's not Americans who will decide whether he gets tried, it's the highest court Justices and the United Nations that make that decision, and let's just say that the UN is not very happy with Bush at this time. Also, think of all the Middle-eastern countries in the UN that will vote yes for him to be tried at the hague.

I've yet to hear of this but thank you. Should be some interesting reading when I have the time to really get into it.

LBJ died in the 70s, today is very different world and the UN is much more Liberal and is not controlled by the US like it used to be

You right the UN would waste time on trying to do something stupid like that

Instead of protecting innocent victims in Africa from genocide funded by countries like china

And you are so right Bush is like totally the worst person in the world hes like Bin Ladin, hitler, stalin, mossilini, and the anti christ combined or he just had a below average presidency and did his best but wasn't so good

oh no, not another guy that think that clubbing seals is a terrible thing. Come on, hunting deer causes more pain to the deer than a seal getting whacked unconscious. Stop saying its wrong because they are cute.

-People that hunt them are normal people, they are not blood thirsty savages that enjoy killing an animal. -There are many seals born every year. Hunting reduces the number. If they grow out of proportion, they can kill off the fish living in the area.

-Clubbing has been shown it is less painful than any other mean. Shooting them will make them bleed to death. they have so much fat and very little organs, dying is a slow process. On occasion it happens the hunter misses, but comparing to game hunting, which one is more human?

I do have ties with the Canadian Coast Guard. The coast guard arent idiots because they allow seal hunting.

Anyway, the people believe too much in the government, that is why he was never impeached. The people never listen to the scandals, only to their fat taxess paycheck, or FOX news

Yeah but Bush and Cheney refused to testify under oath. So Forget the impeachment process let's drag em to the streets and hang them from the statue of liberty.

as much as id like to see it happen, somehow i don see the u.n. or anyone else for that matter going after an ex president of such an important player in international security.

first of all there were many countries involved in the war in iraq, so the blame cannot be given to one person nor one country for that matter, each was as dumb as the one that preceded it.

secondly, as much as i enjoy saying it bush was not a dictator like milosevic, milosovic can be held directly accountable for his actions, but the way the american system is set up with "advisors" the blame is almost impossible to be pinned on the president.

thirdly, bush will not stand trill for genocide, because what he did in iraq is not genocide, genocide is the systematic eradication of a group of people based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, nationality (basically the group has to have one single thing in common)(by systematic eradication i mean, planned discriminatory an organized killings of one group an one group alone) most of the civilian deaths in iraq have been caused by american bombings, an its a lil bit hard to discriminate from a plane. civilian deaths have occurred through the act of war, not through genocide (it sucks but it aint genocide)

btw in no way to i like or condone what bush has done, i think he's a douche, an our government is just as bad for playing follow the leader.

now back to the point of the thread.

if bush got impeached wouldn't this mean only good things for the republican party? in my opinion it'd give the party enough time to denounce an disassociate themselves with bush an the highly unpopular government he lead.

that way the conservative party can go on fear mongering the impressionable public an achieve a swing back to the right.

so ya now if you have read that whole rant i have a joke for you, seeing as milosevic was brought up before this is only appropriate

q) what do you say to a serbian hooker?

a) slobber-down-my-cock-you-bitch!!

Haha, this thread is ridiculous. I can't believe your blaming a president for war deaths and calling it a genocide.

The man sent troops to Iraq to take down a hostile ruler and stop threating terrorists.

And you have to be kinding me to say Bush knocked down the twin towers.

It's funny how the US wanted to go to war, elected a president who wanted to go to war, and after we went to war and didn't finish the job, they blame the president who is sticking to his beliefs without swaying to whatever is popular. Newsflash, Americans are not the president, the president is. You don't have the information Bush does so you can't critize his choices.

Not saying I believe this but, it'd be a symbolic gesture. A lot of people would view it as compensation for everything that they believe he has done/fucked up.

Dave.

All jokes aside. I would love to see the UN try that one.

Even if Bush himself bombed the WTC and strangled 100s of babies with

his bare hands like CNN would like you to believe. They have little to

hang him on.

They would have to execute 90% of the senate, presidential cabinet, and behead Hillary Clinton. They all had the same 'intel' and supported the war at the time.. If you don't recall.

Now regardless of finding our good friend Saddam's weapons of mass destruction, and whether or not he was a direct eminent threat to attack America.. that still has little to do with the cold fact that he WAS in direct violation of UN treaties, sanctions.. over and over again.

He has been in direct violation of these sanctions and orders for 10+ years. The bare of burden was for him to prove he destroyed the weapons years and years ago. He never did. The burden was not on the rest of the world to try to 'find' them. He had already spit in the face of everyone at the UN and broke countless laws. But what happened? they didn't do shit about it.

Saddam's been getting idle threats for over a decade, then Bush comes along and actually follows through with what he says... (look into the law. while the UN didn't approve Bush taking action. he had every right to) Saddam never thought anyone would follow through and was caught off guard, which was why we captured most of his key officials immediately.. He thought it was just 'talk' like all the other times.. Which are the very words he has been quoted as saiyng.

And you spouting off 600,000 Iraqis dead! doesn't make you look any smarter. That's bogus and complete BS. Nobody has any finite numbers. Cnn and your other source's speculated # of casualties is just that; speculation.

Do you not realize that the majority of all deaths in Iraq are 'civil' in that Shias, Sunnis, and terrorist organizations have been killing each other and killing their own people?!

They've been at war with each other for hundreds of years.. murdering millions of their own.. if you want to somehow blame that on the United States and blame all deaths in Iraq our fault now.. then be my guest.

Look. I hate the war as much as you do. But blaming America and blaming Bush for 700,000 deaths is ignorant.

... now that you mention it, I'm starting to like the idea of impeachment.

Kidding.

But it will be interesting to see how this pans out. There is a lot of evidence that this current administration did in fact 'sell' a war based on assumptions or incorrect knowledge. The case here is if that was premeditated, and if the administration intentionally tried to cover their ass from any wrongdoing when things started to go badly.

When you put it like that I guess i'll have to go up to Canada and give it a try.

Watch out seals im coming for you little mother fuckers
