i was in Canada a couple days ago and i was watching the news and one of the stories was about how generous canada was for giving 1 million dollars then upping that amount to 4 million. Now obviously they would eventually give more but I found it funny that they made a big deal about the 4 million.

Actually Canada didn't donate 33 million, it was 3.3 million. So 3,300,000.

^Yes, very weak... oh, except we're a much smaller country by population. The USA has over 10 times as many people. Do the math... it's about the same. So not weak. Just as the USA's contribution is not weak. I think the people could use even MORE help, but they're thankful for all they get, and noone should really be scoffing at 350 mil. I would have THOUGHT more, but it's the US admin's call, and not really a decision that, so far, wants criticism.

The 350 mil the US donated was only second to the 500 mil that Japan donated. I think that is a pretty respectable amount of money from bush. I am not a huge bush fan but i like what hes trying to do over in the south east. It was pretty bad though that up till this last donation that private organizations like the red cross were sending over more money than our government.

BC alone has a huge surplus that is being contemplated about how much to send over, somewhere in the 30-40 million range.
