I just read in the paper that Bush was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. It said he was nominated for trying to keep world peace. I don't know about you guys but I don't understand how he could even be nominated.

Yeah, they changed the definition of peace... but don't worry, he won't win, he's only one of 173 nominees. Not that it even matters, the NPeacePrize can be taken about as seriously as the oscars.

The Noble P P is a little more prestigious than getting an oscar, ha! Even being nominated is great accomplishment, but I agree with your stance on Bush winning. I would think there are others with accomplishments, who are more deserving because of time and labor put into their work.

haha, bush a peacekeeper? he's done nothing but look for conflicts since he's been in office. after 9-11 he went after Afghanistan and Al Quaida and vowed that he would get Bin Laden dead or alive no matter what. then after a while of the millitary looking and turning up nothing, he turns to Iraq to distract the country from his failed promise.

^Takes a bit more than promoting your own country's interests to qualify for an award for promoting world peace. And honestly, promoting your own country's interests by waging war is even worse, from the perspective of whether he deserves a PP. The only way you could defend that nomination is to argue that his actions in afghanistan promoted world peace.

somewhat yes...a NPP winner needs to be appealing from every perspective. Lots of people like Bush and lots don't, which is why he can't win.

I really like the americans terrorism scale with the color codes to show howdangerous it is at that moment. Out of the 999,999 times its been code red, I bet maybe 1 of those could f possibly been an attack but most likely not. BNush hasnt protected the states hes made it worse. Its got tougher to go to school, or to get a decent job. Your becoming a racist country again against all forgien indians and such. I have neighbours who moved up from the States because they flt unsafe and were outcasted.

haha, no. I don't agree with every single thing the government has done. That still doesn't stop the fact that Bush probably had good intentions to start out with when the first terrorist acts came. Yeah, he went a bit overboard. I still think they could have dealt with the whole issue better, but he did what he felt was right, which resulted in a bunch of deaths yeah, but in the long run, it did help to promote peace.
