Bus from SLC to PC

If this thread has been created before let me know and ill have it deleted.

Supposedly this year they are having bus transportation from SLC to PC. I am going to be a freshman at the U and im not bringing a car this year. So this will be a great way to get up there. Does anyone know if it will be free with the U of U, UTA pass we get? or is it through PC? I heard somewhere it would be around 5 dollars or 240 a monthly pass which would get very expensive.

Although I highly doubt this , I bet the resorts would work out a deal w/ UTA to make the bus free for passholders like snowbird/Alta and Brighton/Solitude do . Pc doesn't want buses from Salt Lake though, would be great if its true and relatively quick but I bet thats not the case.

shitI stand corrected:http://www.fox13now.com/news/kstu-uta-park-city-bus-route-uta-to-launch-slc-to-park-city-bus-route-20110711,0,5668668.story

thanks man +KIm really hoping like you said to get a free pass if we have a PC pass or maybe and good discount as a U student. will see what happens. Also it would be sick if these run somewhat late so after classes i can go up and night ski

It's part of UTA so wouldn't it be free for students? all the buses are free for students with their UTA card already.

oo my bad. for some reason i thought that it was through the Park city service not UTA.. I hope its through the UTA that would be sick!

That article says UTA... so im guessing it would be connected to the U student pass. But, it could also be like front runner where even if you have a trax/bus pass, you still pay. I guess we'll see. If there is a legit bus to PC that i can ride for free from UTA, i will be so stoked.

There is a small thing on the Student bus pass that says it doesnt apply for the uta winter bus routes to the cottonwoods, ive never tested it i always just use my bird/brighton pass on the ski busses

ahhh, well, we can only hope it will be included with the season pass at PC/Canyons.

so i'm working at deer valley...would i be able to get there every morning for work from SLC? I'm moving out there in november from vermont so i don't really know anything about it

think the bus will struggle to get up to PC & back when its dumping?

Will be an interesting year to see how this goes, atleast they are giving it a try!

The busses will only struggle due to traffic. Most or all of the ski busses have a sweet automatic chain thing where they can switch to chain mode while driving.

unless Pcmr and canyons put uta stickers on passes, this isn't worth it at all because regular uta (student) passes don't work on this bus and a commuter ticket is 12 a day!

yeah we can only hope pc/canyons does the same thing as brightion/solitude/snowbird/alta because its 5 bucks one way for the bus or 242 for a 30 day pass.

yeah but the bus route just came out this month, i wouldnt be surprised if they gave out separate passes like they used to do for college students.

This would be great for bike rides down the millcreek pipeline from Park City. I wonder if they would let you take your bike on the bus or if they will have racks...
