Burton skis

dude i have this sick down nike jacket that i love like a baby
i dont think it's for skiing though, im pretty sure it's meant for super hood black guys like standin at the bus stop
burton skis could be cool

the reason they are doing this is because they are noticing that ski sales are rising and that they might be able to make a good profit so i dont blame them anyways it might just be like rossi or k2 snowboards... you dont really see anyone riding them...

oh and if they dont call them burton gnar sticks im kinda okay

theyre a corporate athletics company that only got in to winter sports to squeeze even more profit from yet another market, they dont care about the soul of the sport, they just want moneys.

to be totally honest i would not buy their skis. now its not becouse im an ignorant fuck and hate them just becouase they hate me, its becouse i want to support the industry. Line skis was on the brink of bankrupcy becouse it was a ski only brand. K2, salomon, rossi and whatnot ALL make snowboards and that is why they are successfull.

In terms of outerwear though i dont really care. i mean iv got a DC coat for gods sake

Here is something to think about with Nike.
They had not interest in our culture until we offered huge market power. Nike made skate shoes 30 years ago, and quit because the market was not big enough to be worth it. Now we have worked our way to the top of the market base, and they have returned to feed.

All the Stake-Snowboard market is to Nike is money. Nike would have no interest in our culture if large amounts of money was not possible.
If our culture started to decline and was in any kind of trouble, Nike would collect the money they made and go back to focusing on Basketball and Golfballs. It is important to support brands that are emotionally invested in our culture. The brands who who are fully invested. The Brands who live and die with the culture. They are the ones that will do all they can to support its stability and not just try to suck it dry.
I have nothing personal against Nike, and I will check them out when I am looking for some new Basketball shoes. But when it comes to Skate-Snowboard-Ski, I will put my investment elsewhere.
Would you be stoked on Abercrombe and Fitch skate shoes.....Fuck no.....Same thing.
Best of Luck with the Jocks Abercrombe and Nike, but leave us alone.

guess this is the problem companies have. they either do what they're doing for love of the sport, or for their own gain. Burton is doing it for their own gain after seeing the success of ski companies and want a slice of the pie, it isn't exactly bad for skiing, its just another ski brand among the numerous others, but their ethics of why they want to are wrong, so skiing integrity is damaged

I do agree with putting money towrds companies that it are in it for us. But i won't lie that i will buy there products because:A: They have a lot of good looking stuffB: They are putting our sport out there to tha masses. Makes everyone more money. Just hopefully we don't turn into snowboarding.

But you gotta also look at it as they do, an investment, they put money into it along time ago, and never got their return, now they can invest in it, make some sick products, and get money

^^^

But there only become involved in our industry to make money....

It doesnt bother you that onece it heads south they will just bail on the community. Skiing needs companies like Full Tilt, Armada, Liberty, etc, etc.

Companies invested in the CORE of our sport, putting ALL there effort not just to make a buck, but to give back to us as a whole. Nike hoped on the snowboard circuit this year just because they can get mad money from skaters who also snowboard. At the end of the day Nike just wants your ducats, and don't really give a fuck about the little guy. I think it's farrrr more important to support skiings core companies, instead of going to all these corprorations hoping on the band wagon. I will rep core companies till the day I die, they are the one's out there with us pushing and passionatly enjoying skiing.
