Yes, it's true. They're bringing out skis under a different name, which I forget. I read about it on Skipass or somewhere, but couldn't find any more information on the subdivision. But really guys, Burton products are not all that great. I live with 4 snowboarders and am good friends with a lot more - every one has had major problems with their boots, most of their boards have had delams or inserts rip out, and a few of the guys have broken bindings (one snapped a baseplate twice and snapped the whole binding in half at the heel once). These guys ride hard but you would definitely expect more quality control. What I'm saying is, popularity does not equal quality. Burton is mass-marketed and its main appeal is its image and supposed reputation. Yes, they might manage to get some decent skis produced eventually, but I wouldn't trust my money to a snowboard company in its first year of production.
