ha nice. i have a beard so hopefully that will work. my mom might actually have to drive me in so she'll be there but i don't want her to be like standing there the whole time
yeah when i registered i wrote my real age. so i guess the fake is out. so i guess im gonna have to cop the mother for a bit so she can sign me out. aha
why is it that that sucked so much? my 11 year old brother can do switch ups on a snowboard.... and noes and tail slide, and he never falls off the sides of a box... those dudes all suck, i could beat them, somebody pleas go and show that skiing is way more awesome, and don't go dressed all hood and shit....
yea the first one is the street sessions or something where only invited pros and some people can go. i was watching the show "The Block" and they were talking about how like 30 people are gonna be going and it's gonna be hige. i'd like to go anyway even though it's snowboarding, but thursday night is not good.
We meeting up beforehand? If so, we should all meet at the hunter college train station. Its the closest to the entrance, and any train can get you to the 6 train so you can get to the stop.
Oh, and to anyone driving, don't expect to find parking spots. Unless you want to pay a garage massive amounts of money. Best bet is to park somewhere outside of Manhattan then take a train in.
i can defeinitely go my dad works in brooklyn he can drop me off on his way there but i dont really wanna waste a good day of skiing if the setup is gonna be that bad, maybe ill go next year
yeah i was the only skier their last year from that photo i didnt really fall that much tried spinnin on to that gayass box but it was honestly the shoddiest setup ive ever seen for a jam they were soaping up the boxes and rails with dish soap and pretty much every other time people would straight up just stop halfway on the box, this year will be sick tho skiers repin it hard in manhattan
i feel you man^ anyways, they said that they'll have a flat box, a c-box, a little wall jib thing at the end, and whatever was there from last year in addition. so its definitely expanded. but also thats not definite, that was just rumor.
jesus now im in a pickle. either spend no money (except for train or w/e) and go to this rail jam. or pay $80 to get a bus with other kids to go to belleayre.
im leaning towards the rail jam only because i don't wanna pay for stuff.
i emailed to ask what features and the guy said most likely a c-box, flat box and one other thing. im looking foward to free dunkin donuts hot chocolate if i actually go.
i hope im not the only one that's like not good. i gotta like go outside and like jump off my roof or something and practice lol.
I am a French expat in NYC, without skis unfortunately. My friend and I will be there, direct from la Clusaz, taking care of our hangover and supporting you guys.
my friend lives a block away fro, union square and she sent me a pic of the set up for tomorrow...it was on my phone so it was small but it looked sick.
did she say or can u see what stuff is there? i also wanna know about the drop in, cause judging by the video from last year no one got enough speed to like do anything
She's talking about the Union Square Pro Jam thursday night, not the Central Park Am Jam on saturday. I'm sure the setup will be good, that superparx company looks legit.
I know you're joking around, but you guys shouldn't have to use some sort of gimmick or walk up in a big-ass crew to make you guys stand out, just be modest and let your riding do all the talking.
no its cool. thats right. i talked tot hem about it, and they said skiers are wllowed to join, but since Burton is a snowboard company, they naturally write "snoboarders"
well it's official, i won't be competing/prob not going. my urbans were supposed to be ready by today mounted with some freeish markers i picked up, but the place didn't mount them cause they're in urban condition. i had to go and sign a waiver thing and now they prob won't be ready by saturday. i may still go and take pics or something, but now im depressed.
Well, it was fun, I wish we could have hit it more times with less waiting. and props to that tall kid in the Obermeyer, defenitly the best skier/snowboarder there.
