it would be stupid to say that noone gives a shit what they wear. the fashion industry is worth billions of dollars every single year so obviously it count for something and this is no different in snowsports. there are different trends in skiing and snowboarding,
that said, at the end of the day, dont choose a piece of clothing based on what other people are going to think of you. yes everyone does it, whether they make a conscious effort to do it or whether they do it subconsciously everyone chooses the clothes they wear based on current trends. the few people that dont tend to look like this
but at the end of the day. if you like the look of something, buy it. youre skiing because you love the sport. end of
Fact of the matter is Burton AK is pretty bomber shit. And I could care less about any little faggot crying that Burton isn't a ski company. They are a sliding on snow company, and that's good enough for me.
I've had my burton pants for 4 seasons now and I still love them. Actually, most of my gear is burton - R.E.D. helmet, burton gloves and pants. Point is it doesn't matter what you wear as long as it's functional.
The argument that they make bomb shit doesn't work well cause there are plenty of ski companies that make equally high quality pants and jackets. So why not support a company that is going to support skiing?
Because I have to support myself first. And if that means I can get a sweet end of the season deal on some AK, then I'm not going to worry about some kid in a tall-t thinks.
If you care what brands someone else is wearing (or yourself for that matter) then your losing sight of the point of skiing... My checklist to buy is: Do I need it? Is it a good deal? Is it a good piece of kit? Sold
I bought an AK 2L jacket for $150 at the Burton sale..not bad for a 3+ jacket, oh also 3L pants for $25... couldn't pass those up for an extra pair of pants
It's a quality point. Some of the more ski oriented companies are not cheap. But other things being equal, I prefer to support companies that support skiing and personally think their stuff is better.
