Burning p-tex

Whenever i light the ptex it turns black and little black particles(sut)get stuck in the ptex.Is this normal?and is there anyway forit to stay clear with no black from the flame?

 
i think youre getting it too hot?

prolly like 120, me and bob white (linesnowblades) hit it once and the same time and went so big out blades fell off!!!!!!! We were like shit our blades just fell off, thats not supposed to happen!!!! What a day.
 
if it gets dirty when you put it in ur bases maybe there dirty, or if you are using a match to light it parts of the match are getting stuck in it or maybe u just have shitty ptex

no, i had the problem too. your best bet, is to find a cheap glue gun, and shove the stick of p-tex in, then squeeze it in, it wont turn black.

I heard that Line is putting dust from the moon in their skis to make them not as influenced by the gravity of the earth. Has anyone heard of this new tech
 
yeah, its hard to get rid of, but the problem is that its burning too cool. You want a nice small blue flame. i think a tip I've seen is to keep the stick close to horizontal and keep something under the skick until you get the flame right then drip onto the ski.

 
its burning to hot. the black stuff is carbon. what you do is make sure you have a metal scraper handy when you light it hold it horizoltal and close to the scraper so the flame turns blue keep rotating the stick so that it kinda starts to look like the head of a dick as long as you keep doing that and keep it close to the scraper you will have zero carbon.

 
yeah and don't drip the ptex, hold it like a cm away from the wound on the ski and get a nice solid bead and run it slowly along the cut, I find it bonds better that way

Yeah, itburning too hot. First you light it than u take a metal scaper and roll the lit p-tex on it until the carbon come off then use it on your bases. be sure that the flame is litlle, like on the verge of going out.

and make sure that before you do that you use a razor to kinda clean out and trim up the spot your p texing make all the edges smooth, also base cleaner is a must get it at your local shop thats what gets all the dirt old wax and bullshit out. without doing that stuff it will not hold and will come right out
