Burning movies purchased on iTunes?

Hey NS, yesterday I purchased The Education of Style and The Eighty Six from iTunes. It didn't occur to me until they were downloading that iTunes might make it difficult for me to burn them onto dvd so I can watch them on my tv. I tried a couple free programs that are purportedly supposed to be able to convert the files to mp4 but have not been successful. Has anyone else had this problem and if so have you been able to find a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also I tried the search bar, this question has been asked before but never answered as far as I can tell.

I hate to do this but I find it difficult to imagine I am the only person who has encountered this problem. Even a "yeah Sean, that blows, I feel your pain" would be acceptable at this point.

Itunes makes their shit impossible to burn or copy...they'd stop making money if they didn't

It doesn't really have to do with making money...there will always be a majority that pays for shit vs people that torrent stuff...how do you think Adobe makes money...

It more has to do with the rights of the owner of the content (in this case PBP and Stept), part of using iTunes to sell your content (other than the obvious ease of use and distribution to greater masses) is that you know your content is encrypted with iTunes' DRMs so that no one can sell/give away your content. Even though you want to burn it for personal use, there's no way to be able to burn it without getting rid of the rights, and iTunes DRMs are notoriously difficult to crack (hence why a lot of companies use it for distribution). It's kinda one of those things that because it was a problem (people selling/giving away other people's content) steps were put in place so that couldn't happen and one of those steps is burning of said content is not allowed.

i burnt weight onto a dvd from itunes last year with no problems, i tried The Eighty six and it wouldn't work for some reason but If your computer burns dvds there should be an option under file after you've inserted your dvd saying "burn playlist to disk" or something like that. Put your movie into its own playlist. Stay on the playlist and click file to get "burn playlist to disk". That should work, thats what I did.

I understand all of that completely, it makes sense from a business standpoint. It just blows because I legally purchased those movies for my own use, I have no intention of screwing anyone over.

you can convert to mp3 i believe, but i dont think it should be a problem regardless if you do it or not.

DVDs suck anyways, just get an adapter/cord to hook to your tv. If you have an HD tv, you can watch the movies in HD, which is better than a DVD. I prefer digital copies of movies for this exact reason, its a huge difference.

PBP's "WE" doesn't let you watch the movie when your computer has a TV cord in it. At least thats the way with the HD version, the SD version plays through the TV. its such a bummer i cant even put it through to my TV for personal use.

Ok so if you've downloaded them digitally this is what you do.

Follow these steps

Music>iTunes>iTunes Media>Movies/Podcasts depending on the video>Copy the file to a desktop>Burn to disc

But don't you burn extra copies or well fucking kill you

I have an HDMI cord and have watched them on my tv with said cord. I don't know if it's because my tv is ghetto or apple wishes to discourage doing so but i couldn't watch in full screen and it cut out every 15 minutes or so and i had to click on it again to continue watching. For whoever suggested I just buy the dvd's, duly noted. I'm waiting for We and Sunny DVD's to arrive and decided to buy The Education of Style and The Eighty Six from iTunes because I got impatient and didn't think it through.
