burning/Copying DVDS with Mac

yo, i have an iBook with Superdrive and all, and i was wondering how u can copy DVDs, like say i wanted to burn my friends copy of Anchorman or something, can you do this? i thought u could so im jstu wondering how. thanks

but how do u save a DVD. theres only one disc drive so i cant have DVD-R and a DVDD in at the same time

usually in toast you can drag the info frm the movie you want to copy in to a window then eject the DVD and put in a blank DVD - thats wot you do on my mac anyway

 
I use mac ripper to copy the dvd. I usually only extract the main feature. Then if the vob files are bigger then 4.4gigs I use dvd2oneX to compress em. Once I am done that I use toast. I just drag the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS foler into toast and click burn. Make sure when using toast to burn as a DVD-ROM (UDF). If you dont have toast you can make the dvd files a disk image and just burn it that way.

^^^ instead of that shaz just DL a program called 'Fast DVD Copy', it does everything automatically, just pop in the dvd, click copy, and you're done. it's not a free program so you'll probably have to find a version of it somewhere, but its the shit, super easy and very very reliable.

^It costs 100 bucks, and I haven't been able to find a serial that works or a cracked copy or anything. Just get Mac the Ripper off limewire and burn from the TS folder with toast 6 titanium (also findable on limewire).

i highly recommend DVD shrink. find it at afterdawn.com. it is free! it works perfect on PC, dont know about mac. you have to use a seperate burn program though. i use nero. do a liitle reasearch and searching and it wont cost a penny.

 
Um... ok, I got a copy of fast dvd copy, and I can't even fucking OPEN it because I don't have a superdrive. What is this bullshit? I have an external firewire DVD burner. Are the programmers who made this piece of shit really so dumb that they don't get that people might be burning DVDs on something OTHER than an internal superdrive? You've got to be fucking kidding me.

i downloaded Fast DVD Copy and it works! but its really not very fast... took about an hour

that's b/c it removes the css encryption on the disc. I'm surprised they haven't been shutdown yet.

you need patchburn JD! i already told you about it. get it here once you get it, dvd fast copy will reconise that you indeed have a superdrive

oh and if anyone needs a cracked copy of fast dvd copy 2.1 or 3 message me on aim (jarossamdb7) i dont know if the version 3 i have works yet though.
