Burlington Summer Rail Jam details

Okay folks, to ease your ravenous minds, here's the skinny on the rail jam:

The Burlington Summer Rail Jam is sponsored by Skirack in Burlington, VT, Line skis and Rome Snowboard Design Syndicate. It will be on Saturday August 6th (sorry for those of you who will be away) starting at 4pm. The location is 377 Pine St. in Burlington, VT (yeeaaah B-town!). You can mapquest it for directions. There will be a 20' flat rail and a 20' box, both low. The run in will be off of a platform set up on a flatbed trailer, and we will be trucking in snow....that's right..SNOW. There will be a local radio station broadcasting live. From 4-6pm anyone can show up and ride the rails...just bring your helmet!!!! Anyway, during the open session from 4-6, folks from Rome and Line will be watching everyone ride, and will roam around picking out a few lucky saps to compete for killer prizes, like a Rome snowboard and 2006 Line skis. This event is FREE, did I mention FREE? We are putting this on as a way to promote our shop, the Line and Rome brands, and the weekend sale. We hope to make this a yearly event, and may even do another in the fall if there is enough interest, so bring everyone you know and show us how interested you are!! This kind of event is expensive, but its our way of saying thanks for your support. There will be a drop for the rail and one for the box. The rail jam is at the same time and location as our warehouse sale, so if you need gear, just pick it up then ;) !

We will do our best to make sure people get as many hits as possible.

And besides, its AUGUST, are you really gonna complain??!!!

i just got home and i know for a fact that leddy has snow i just ran through it. so i don't see why it should be cancelled.... but yeah.. dont think i'll be there... and just a suggestion next time... remember that a lot of us actually aren't douche bags and do not want 95 triple x broadcasting live...

^we're driving 8 hours for it, and i know for a fact that i have a lot better rails, but its a fun thing to do and cool to meet new people.. any type of skiing is worth it so i say yes

I am organizing the event, so anyone who wants to know if it is still on can contact me at jasond@skirack.com. The rail jam is definately on, no matter how many posts go up saying otherwise about rinks and other stuff. Nice try folks. We will do our very best to make sure everyone gets as much time on the rails as possible. But listen, even if you only get a few hits, there will still be lots of schwag to win and food to eat and sweet deals on gear. We have tons of boots, skis and bindings, as well as accessories and clothing, all at great prices. Beyond that, it will be an opportunity to hang out with all the other addicts around, and meet some cool people. As for the complaint about the radio station, all I can say is its all about distribution and getting the word out.... ;) As I have said before, our ability to do this in the future hinges on how much interest we get, so if you don't want us to do this again, then go ahead and keep posting about it being canceled. If you would like this to become a more regular event, then show us how well you support the people who are out there putting stuff like this on for you and supporting you. Thanks!
