what does it mean when someone writes this by itself in a thread? i cant figure it out. little help would be good.

when a thread hasnt been replied to in a while, it obviously goes down the list. people say bump, they say this so the thread gets a reply and moves back up on the list of threads. basically when someone says bump, they have bumping the thread up to the top of the list so more people will see it.
