Where the fuck do you guys get off seeing other people or 'bums' as exploitable? You think that shit is funny? Will you think it's funny when you're on the street with an addiction, or just 'plain' homeless and for some fucking money you're told to fight another guy, and pull out teeth? Or have BUMFIGHTS tattooed across your forehead? How about when your 16 year old daugher develops a meth habit, and to support it, she routinely fucks multiple guys allowing them to deride and degrade her, laughing while the fuck her?

Where is the fucking respect for anothers dignity, even if they are not in a position to up-hold it themselves? I followed this whole thing as it was unfolding and was more and more disgusted as I learned more about the producers, and their attempt to capitalize on other peoples misfortune.

Flaunting it as entertainment, to see a person so far in a pit of desparation that they'd do just about anything for money; and to look on and laugh... that speaks so much of the consumer of it, and is fucking devoid of the aspects of cohesion that a civilization requires.

why the fuck should we show compassion for the majority of the bums they made themselves that way, so its no ones fault but their own, nobody made them get adicted to crack, no one made them alcoholics, and they obviously don't really give a fuck or they would do something with themselves.

Compassion is 'deep awareness of the suffering of another coupled with the wish to relieve it'. It doesn't require first that the person suffering make moves to help themselves.

Taking enjoyment out of suffering is not a wish to relieve it. If you wanted to relieve it, you'd have some compassion and stop supporting financially, and ideologically this sort of thing.

You know, I didn't read long to realize that at least some people here aren't thinking with a clear head. 'Jizack' stated that why should we help the bums that made themselves that way.

Well, I dunno if you hang around downtown, or know alot of what goes on down there, cause I sure don't. But what I do know is that lots of babies that have parents that are crack addicts and whatnot are born with the addiction as well... its not something they 'choose'. As well as just babies that are born with problems ('fetal alcohol syndrome' comes to mind) that they really don't have control over.

And try getting dirty for a few months.. then see how easy it is to get a job when you have no clean clothes and no money for clean clothes or to even clean the current ones you have. Sit back, look at their situation, and then you might realize these things.

Sure they are pretty disgraceful... but there isn't much they can do about it. Its called society. And its a bitch to live in. Bum or no bum.

I've come across many bums on my walks around the downtown core of Vancouver, and I can tell you right now, most bums are actually very curtious to each other, and not fighting each other. To the point of having long conversations with each other... even teaming up with each other to get more money from passerbyers.

Again, a few people need to actually think about what they say before they say it. ;) I know I sometimes do.

well i doubt that most babies born to crack addicts are going to live long enough to become 40 or 50 yr old bum, which is what these videos hold. they don't show some 2 and 3 year old crack babies out there yanking each others teeth out and beating the fuck out of each other. ha. 40 or 50? doubtful. yeah, there are bums that age on the streets, but believe me, most aren't that old. there are TONS of bums that look nasty and old, and are like in their mid-30s. its actually alot due to the fact they look disgusting, which in turn doesn't help them get a job, which keeps them on the streets.

As for people who are crack addicts from birth, again, yeah, i can see how they might die at an early age. okay, bad example on my part. but what I was trying to get across is that its ANY drug or liquor related problem from birth. doesn't have to be just crack.

But really, it all comes down to the fact that other than a few bums that say on camera that they like getting paid to beat other bums up, its really not doing them any good, and they know it. Its degrading, and bums may look disgusting, but i bet they aren't all dumb as rocks. They know this.

 
christ, it's the same as boxing. They get paid to fight, if they don't want to fight they don't have to. By alloying people to pay them to fight and film it they are saying that it's ok with them.
