Building kickers

how the fuck can you make these like snow cubes for building a kicker?

or do you guys just shovel a pile of snow, shaping it into a kicker?

or any other methods?

 
i just wait till the guy that plows my driveway comes then build a kicker out of that and have my brother tow me in on my fourwheeler

 
I hope that you say a snowboarding film before you asked this question. ... the key is to cut out the snow as iff you were carving out a wall. try and go deep, cause the deeper the snow the more compacted it will be. you can just pile and shape, but it looks so much better when it is smooth and even.

Also has anybody ever noticed that in snowboard films their BC booters are aloways very clean around the jump. ie nobody has been walking all around the take off. it makes jumps look soooooo much better. skiers should take the time to make jumps good to look at on the screen.

i think that would be a very big waste of time. how many kickers do you think they have to build each year? must be tons, i know i wouldn't want to spend any unnecessary time on them...

on another note, does anyone know how long pros spend making theirs'?

oh and as for building them, if the snow isn';t packable, i just pack it as well as i can then pour water all over it to it freezes in the perfect shape in like 5 minutes, then put a little good snow over it

u jsut make blocks and stack em. u prolly cant do it with pow though casue it doesnt pack very well

when the snows right you can just take your skis and just cut them right out of the ground. They are great for building booters.

 
if its had some time to pack a little, u can cut out blocks with a shovel, just stick it down in the outline of the block u want then pry it up, and really who the fuck cares if ur jump looks nice, if its a sweet jump i dont care how it looks

You can also go to Wal-Mart and buy block makers - they are in the kids toy section. They have a handle on the top and you fill them with snow, pack it down and use it to make blocks in a manner similar to building sandcastles. I used to build forts with them and chuck snowballs at cars going by.

 
I was up in this quarry and these guys were making a really big kicker. They took ski poles and a snowboard to rig up a frame and started to pile snow on to it. You have to make it pretty big and pour water on it otherwise it will just collapse when you ride over it.
