Building Jumps

In my humble opinion, whatever you do, don't make it too big.

Girls don't like sensitive guys. Since I don't treat women like objects, I have to treat objects like women.

pile up shitloads of snow, more snow then you ever think you'll need. Then cut it and you'll probably end up putting more snow on it, because huge ass wedges are the best

I stack my friends board, and whosever skis we have on the back for a foundation, and pile snow onto them. Then shape, and go. The key is having a good place to build it. If there is a natural roller, you don't need to make the actual take off really big.

When you assume, you make an ass out of u and me.(think about it)

'My knee hurts' (Jeff Merat after grinding a lunch table for an hour instead of sitting in the ski patrol shack for his torm mcl and acl which he got earlier that day.)

'I'm not asking for any help, just mabe for you to get off your ass.'(my dad)

the best jump ive ever built is at a place where its down then about 10-15 feet of flat then another hill sloping down we built the jump near the begining of the flat by just piling a ton of snow up then just shaping it and packing it down with the shovel, that seemed to work pretty good

try to make it so you can get your entire ski length on the jump, and if you have boarders with you, make it really wide cuz they carve off the lip

If you have a 1380 SAT and a 86.71 GPA... what does everyone say? Not good job, not 'O wow, thats awesome!' No, they say things like 'You are an underachiever'

Make a huge pile... beat it with a shovel... if you need more snow, you get more... then last but not least mold to the desired way.

we usually stick our skiis in the snow to form a wall and pack snow against them making a sort of jump form. after you have a huge packed moundstep all over it cause if you can crush it now its really gonna crush when you hit it.Put more snow on pak shape and put your skiis on going up and down further packing it then hit it! One last thing bigger is better.

I get a few different sized pieces of plywood and set them on somthing which can be a box or a pile of snow. Lay them so they for the right angle then pile snow on top and carve it. That will save you the time it takes to build the HUGE pile you need otherwise.

yeah that's good for around your house, but i dont think there is lots of plywood in the backcountry! ;-) I would use the terrain to your advantage and build it a top a cliff or slopeing hill.

you want yo make sure you have a good size roller . then make it really wide and bulid it like an iglo by digging deep into the snow pack and taking out big chunks of snow instead of just the loose stuff. do that until you have a good shape and then side step the take off to make it nice and smooth.
