Building a summer jib

Im pretty sure my season is about over considering that we live 6 hours away from a good park, and about hour away fomr a crappy park. I have been trying to learn 3's and rails for some time now, so i want to have them mastered by next season. I live in california, on a small hill, so what would i need to build summer jumps? What item? How much do they cost? and will it even work, or am i just wasting time?

uhhh jumps dont work to well but you can build pvc rails and nice set ups like that it can cost upwards of 100 most of the time join the build_a_ jib_101 cult (or its somethin like that)

get 2 pvc pipes ...put them next to each other and screw them to a 2x6 then i screwed like 3 home depot buckets to the 2x6 works great cost around 25 bucks i think

ok got the rails down, but what do i ski on lol?, like what would i use to ski to the rail? i dont think dirt will work.

Astroturf worked for me, office carpet was surprisingly fast too. If you have a kinda steep hill my friend had a 2 foot skate ramp up on the top. Ski down that on wet down (helps if soaped) turf and hit a smaller skate ramp onto a rail, sketch but it worked.

ya my hill's on a slope and i got a 2.5 foot high drop in that im gonna try using an old towel on with soap and water

i havent tried it yet though

where exactly do you live?

given that you're trying to build a summer jib in cali where you dont live near the snow sounds sick.

im in the bay area and i suppose i could give building a summer jib a try?

all i've got down are 180s and grinding short boxes sideways...i suck

go to the rink of hockey, the ice that they shave off can be used for snow, if no rink of hockey is near you then like they said, use pvs, turf, ramps.

astro turf, isnt that the stuff at the mini put golf course? and i just don't think i will be able to ski on it, liek should i add stuff to it, and do i need to be on a steep hill?

astro turf, snowgel, a box/rail and a jump and you're set. it worked for me and my friends last year..you got any qt's let me know....the jump was a large piece of plywood against other wood.btw

peace to you

That works but you don't need snowgel to water it down. Get some turf (yes its the green stuff from lowes on mini putt courses) and how about two 2 2 inch 10 foot long pvc pipes (6 bucks each) and some self taping wood to plastic screws. Drill through the bottom of your wood (Thats what she said) and attach both of them on there. Put a skate ramp up top and another smaller on bottom, your skate ramp could be plywood on other wood it doesn't matter. Drop it and pole plant, its a good thing to do dude i learned a bunch of swups before the season started 2 years ago. Than we built a sick one.

depends

a)how long your run in

b)do you want astro turf everywhere( before around and after the rail)

c) enough to make the job done and have fun

sorry, if im aksing so many questions, but i dont want to waste my money. Heres another one lol, do i have to put anything on the pvc pipes, or are they going to be slipery enough?

supposedly that orange snow fence stuff works well for sumer skiing. i know some people who have used it before, and thats what im planning to do this summer.

Would this thing be good to try rails on if you never do them at a terrain park? I'm saying this because I really want to try rails but the season's almost over. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little intimidated by them but I'm getting more confident each time I go skiing and this season has been the best so far for my progression. Anyway, if I can get this down over the summer, next year is going to be a great season!!!
