building a rail

I have some slight hills in my backyard and a 4 wheeler with rope to get speed. I was thinking I could build a rail to hit when Im bored. I have a nice amount of 2x4's and 2x6's around here and Id probaby use pvc pipe.

Does any one have any suggestions or should I just go at it and build it in hopes it stays up. I was thinking about having up kink (small) in the front and nothing at the end. This way I wouldnt have to build a ramp up to the rail, you could just jump up to it. But maybe Im wrong, and you have a better suggestion. Any ideas? I think Ill get some pics of my yard today, Id help in deciding on what I want to do.

could i do an up kink with pvc pipe? would it have to be bent or could i just cut it?

rrrgh a kink with pvc? i dun liek pvc neway its 2 quick..and me and my friends r building rails usin his dad's welding equiptment and sum piping we stole

i figure i will make the rail kinda short since i havent grinded before and speed is an issue. so ill make a small kink up too.

good idea...dont use pvc if u want to have a kink use steel.

well, driving around 11:30 i found pipe. they were doing construction a few doors down and i took this 7 or 8 foot pole. its all rusted tho.

now i just need some smaller peices for support. ill keep you guys updated.

don't bend it because you will get joints in your rail. The way to go is to get a mider saw and set it to the degree you want the kink to be. So for a double kink (flat, down, flat) you could just build the frame with the angles (using the mider saw - on the middle peice cutting both side to the angle) and then doing the same with the pvc and countersinking the screws.
