Building a Rail ~ +k for good ideas

I have a 7" diameter 10' long PVC pipe and I want to build a rail. Any good ideas on where I should go from here? I want to build a sturdy rail that I can potentially have for a few years so I can practice in the off season
 
Why would you put this in sell/trade. Pm a mod and ask them to move it. Also check the build a jib cult
 
moderators are the people with green names and you should have posted it either in the build a jib cult ( cults are like groups for specific things) or ski gabber although people would've gotten mad if you posted it in skis gabber.. no problem though.

if I were you I would just build it up on some snow.. I have an 8" 10' long pvc and I just built it into a cannon with some snow
 
mods are people with green names. they can delete posts, move posts, ban members, and keep the sites content in check.

the sell/trade forum is for people to sell or trade their old ski gear. you're looking for the ski gabber forum (discuss anything skiing related) or a specific forum in a cult like the build-a-jib 101 cult.

and to answer your original question: cut 2 rectangles of plywood with semicircles cut out of it to set the box in. then connect the two and build a frame between them, and you should be able to figure it out from there.
 
well, this is something i've done, perhaps you can do it too. find a small ravine or something, put the rail up one hillside, and so you can grind it up and then grind it back down. i also put another rail on the other hillside, and if you do it right, you'll have enough speed for several hits without stopping.
 
Just build some supports for the pvc and set it up as a straight rail. Switch-ups upon Switch-ups. plus its good for progression.
 
I would just put it in the snow and shred...then again I don't have the right tools to make anything with it and I'm lazy.
 
I have a ten foot piece of six inch PVC, I drilled a 2x4 along the bottom, then drilled some wood into either end, and I just use it as a short easy rail to practice on, and it has worked great
 
Just leave it as is, I have a 6X10 one that works fine if you just put it down into a mound of snow. Otherwise you can just put it ontop of some 2X4s at either end. No need to get fancy.
 
If I were you, I would bury it with snow and just hit it while it's in the ground. If you wanted to try something different, make 2 stands for it, almost like sawhorses, and lay the PVC pipe inbetween them.
 
Sorry to thread jack in advance:

How does one go about getting a PVC pipe with 6"+ diameter(Legally)? Do you have to special order it at let's say, Home Depot or Menards? Also how much would you run you?
 
Just go to Home Depot. They had a huge rack of them when I got mine. And it only cost me $18. That's pretty good considering the fact that you don't need to buy wood neccessarily to use it.
 
I've been wondering if I want to mount the pipe or just put it in the snow. I'll take this into consideration, although our snowfall is often measly.
