Building a Box

ok heres the deal

im buiklding a box in tech class and i have all oif the saws and equiptment to build anything. Does anyone know a cheap material that can be used to slide on, like to be put on top of the box? can you get sheets of pvc? if anyone knows please tyell me

 
maybe sumhow sheet metal would work, just a suggestion though. i dont actually know how well it would work. or lexan, but i hear that's expensive. i have angle iron on my box like on the edges and just plywood in the middle part. but u probably dont want that

Dude teflon is not all that expensive, but ginded sheet metal is pretty good too.

Laterails:Yeah i think they aren't adjusted, or it could be the fact that all that is holding them together is one of my pubes
 
masonite is your answer, my friend built 2 8ft boxes with the stuff and it worked great, it is also really cheep, can be found at like home depot or somthin like that

I was wondering the same thing last fall.......... then I used the search bar and my eyes were opened. ues the search bar so we dont have to write it over and over. leaxan is what I used

Yeah lexan is expensive, so we went with the next step down an Acrylic sheet that is really strong and will work nice so i would say just get that.

i use pvc piping and it works well...you have to get like the 1'' pipes so they are still small...my first box was with 3 like 3'' pipes kinda crappy. but yea pvc slides well and is dirt cheap..especially when stolen from a construction site

you could do that but i think he's suggesting you use the pvc piping like coping on the sides and then have the slidable surface (whatever that may be) in the middle.

I read in freeskeir that you can use plastic picnic tables(foldable tables) and take the metal part off and cut the plastic so you can make the box. I just don't know how you would build it with that.

What's masonite? and acrilc sheets?

Imagine the ns outcry if u(lateralis) were banned. There would be countless threads and petitions to bring u back, it would be like when treadway got banned from whistler. Someone would probably make and sell 'Free Lateralis' stickers and shit. -j
 
^yep, the park manager at keystone suggested that idea in freeskier and he's right. my friend took the top of a picnic table, cut it into 3 lengths, and then made 3 sick boxes with wooden supports and all. he also put pvc piping on the sides for coping.

now, he can switch up the 3 boxes to make for some killer combinations...and it didn't cost him much at all.

I made a box using plexiglass that I stole from the hockey arena!! ;) I took a robertson SD and stole 2 sheets!

 
Under my computer chair, i have this plastic sheet thing. Its smooth, hard, and it would work perfect for a box. go down to staples, or office max and try and get your hands on some.
