Build my new computer.

It's been a good run with my current rig, but it's time to build a new computer tower. I've been out of the game for too long to know what the latest-and-greatest is so I need help. It will be used primarily as a gaming and photo/video editing machine. Already have a case, really just looking for MOBO/CPU/GPU suggestions. Don't have a real strict budget, I'll dump as much money in to it as needed, although I would like to still be reasonable.

Go.

what is reasonable for you? 500? 1000? tough to make you one without a budget of some sort

Here's a super nice setup, feel free to pm me i could help you with more if this doesn't fit your budget

We can talk more about other components including cases, cooling, etc. I'd recommend, just shoot me a pm

There's no point getting that MOBO if they're not going utilize it completely. Something like an ASUS P8Z77 V-PRO would probably be fine - a lot cheaper as well.

If the OP is just gaming there's no need for a i7 3770k - gaming doesn't utilize hyper-threading. It just depends on how intensive the video/photo editing is, but with an i5 3570k the OP probably wouldn't notice the difference.

I've had bad experiences with Vector SSD's. I usually go Intel or Samsung, but that's just personal preference.

You didn't really specify what you were going to be using it for, but I can almost guarantee this is overkill.

i heard that intel is going to be releasing the next generation of processors soon, so maybe the current version will be dropping in price soon.

Yeah, that looks like it would be a really nice setup but WAY out of my budget.

I am trying to keep MOBO/CPU/GPU at ~$4-500 to start, then upgrading my other components later(RAM, HDD, etc.).

Id just get an i5 k edition so you can overclock, its plenty of power for what youre doing. I'd go with a 660ti for your gpu, and just on't go crazy on the mobo, its completely unnecessary for what you're doing to go overboard on one.
