fuckn rossignal pop up ad fuckn up my post!

all aboard the hate train?

i dont have much against buckeye personally the employees are decently cool, except for a few who just are freakn creeps, equiptment could be better, talked to upper mangment and they really only buy the cheapest gear they can and in large bulk package deals. no problem there as non of you kids from bmbw need skis that are fat or anything if so get it online. the outerwear is cool but i prefer individual gear but they have nice stuff. only problem i have is the owner, hes kinda a ass considering he let me off after i went to every training period and everyday they wanted me to work. he said it was for cut backs but he actually went and hired 3 more people after letting off 3 and the 3 he hired only 1 had skied or boarded. it was a dick move and i dont look to be buying major gear from them but its your choice dont hate on some shop because they dont have what you want or some guy you called and talked to wasnt knowledgable enough if your gonna need extreme knowledge on shit do it yourself. so dont hate they employees are fine, for the most part fuckn god damn egor mofo, and other then that chill the fuck out guys its a incident dont drag it on

Just wanted to pass on some Kudo's for Buckeye Sports.

My brother and his wife just bought complete setups from BSC and they are very happy. They are intermediates and not looking for all the good stuff like us gear tech / hogs. I was at Aspen Ski and Board in Columbus and found out that the ski they sold my brother was a shop favorite with sorta a cult following. My brother was looking for good package at a good price, with good service and he cannot be happier.

I have sent many people like that to Buckeye and they all return happy with new gear. The place fits a need and has for a long time. They do an outstanding stone grind job if you need your skiis tuned up.

Downside is that when we get as good at riding as we have, we get very particular and have our own distinct opinions as to what works and what doesn't. Problem is that we forget that there is more than one way to skin a cat.

I hated the 158 Slolom skis that I started with on Monday, sorta felt like I had my Olin Ballets on, but Tuesday I figured the little buggers out and now I cannot get enough of them. They carve trenches in the hill and really sling - shot you down the hill.

Next week I am gonna ride a saucer down tiger and drink a beer at the bottom. Have fun out there and be safe !

What a great post!!! nice work Pauly. after reading this... Schuster (midwestmadness) sorry to say but i think mr. blonski here could stump just about every one in the universe about skiing. Dont want to even get started on wax. he made me not be able to stop in a lift line!! HAHAHA!! makes me chuckle

thanks .... i think its funny this tread still exists on the 1st page of regionals ,,,, well bsc will get a chance in the very near future to correct themselves i had a pair of skis ground and was not happy at all .....am looking to go in and see how they handle it .... ill post the results and maybe this thread will be deleted ( or added to )

yeah, i replied to this a long time ago, look at the date. Was still getting to know that place. Trust me I know what is going on there, and what Mr. Paul knows. Ive come to realize who's legit and who's not, who's loyal and who's not....Im just going skiing from now on.

Hey, do you guys by any chance know what place sells them dildo binders? i heard those are the besterest because they don't post release!

ahh, i don't know the dildo's on my px12's feel quite nice, but ive heard the boxy shape of the griffons feels super nice

Nothing against Buckeye really, they have always found a way to get shit done in my opinion. The guy who mounts in the back usually (Charlie I think??) does a pretty legit job mounting skis. Brought my JJs in there and he made the holes work where I wanted them even though the old holes were kind if in the way. Only problem I ever had was buying some AR6s from Geigers and ordering some Look pivots online because they only had the schizo jester in stock. Got them mounted at Buckeye and the heel ripped out a month later washing out on a landing, but they promptly fixed the screw and mount so it wouldn't happen again. All in all it is pretty good service, but some people who work there just need to learn what a ski is before they sell it. Sometimes it isn't about the sale more than knowing some kid (who probably could afford anything in the store) isn't getting some low-quality junk ski you have to sell because it wont sell later.
Schuster knows whats up.
And stock more Armada and higher quality boots, junk boots don't fit anybody's foot well. No one buys the Nordica park skis either you must have had those enforcers since 2006.

I want to start this off by saying i don't ski or board. both of my kids do. I googled "buckeye sports center worst service" this is the first site that came up. After reading these and finding out I'm not the one who feels like this I figured I'd share my story.

Well i went to buckeye sports center this week (from a friends recommendation) with intentions to purchase my son and daughter a pair of skis and a snowboard. and you couldn't be more correct! We walked in and started to look at skis first.. it took 15 minutes to get help... we asked the employee at the counter if they could have someone show us a few pairs of skis (although she was very nice) she said she wasn't to familiar with ski selection, but she would find someone to help. So we walked back over and waited again...nobody came! a little frustrated i took the kids to snowboards where there was at least a few employees. We walked up and started to look around. we were asked if we needed help.. FINALLY! The guy asked a few questions to my son and I then started to try and explain a few boards to us.. key word "try". I Swear all i heard coming out of his mouth was a whole lot of "ahhh's" and "ummm's". it looked like he needed to finish his monster soda...or lay off the pot pipe! At this point i had given up! On the way out my daughter wanted to look at a set of skis that caught her eye on the way in. Still frustrated, but not to waste a trip, i agreed and to my surprise in a matter of a few minutes a gentleman walks out of the back and asked if we had any questions... quickly pointed out a pair of skis "that would be perfect for her" and tried to rush us to try on some ski boots! she didn't even like the skis! when i tried to ask about the skis she liked all i got was "those wont work for her". I Told him we were going to have to think about it and we walked out. This experience was terrible. i cant believe all of you have had to deal with this shop on even a semi-regular basis. I will never go there again. Shop there and you'll end up getting either a clueless, a half asleep, or a poor excuse for a used appliance salesman. Awful. complete disapointment.

any recommendations? I really don't have a clue when it comes to skiing or boarding so I'm apprehensive to purchase anything online. thanks in advance

-Rich

OOOOOOOO My!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rich you should try one more time. maybe do i little bit of research before you go. But what ever you do, DO NOT BUY ONLINE!!! unless you want to hurt our little ski community. and prices are no cheaper.

First of all, thanks to everyone for their suggestions! We did end up trying Giegers and Sun Valley Sports. Both stores were a night and day difference to Buckeye Sports Center. The staff at Giegers was very attentive and incredibly knowledgeable. Unfortunately the selection of youth equipment could have been better, but even so they had a few great options. They even mentioned they could attempt to special order an item if there wasn't something my family was interested in. Sun Valley Sports couldn't have done a better job either. The staff was equally as knowledgeable and just as friendly. Even though there were only what seemed to be two people on staff and a few more then that for customers. One of them made sure to show me where the skis were, and let me know he'd be right there to help. the part that stood out was how the salesman, Rob?, did an outstanding job relating and overall giving the attention to my kids while making sure i knew why he was choosing the skis and board. he made sure we left with a hand shake for me and a "high five for being super psyched" for Matt and Steph. Again thank you for the suggestions. Going there felt like i was walking into a store that truly cared to make sure my family was satisfied but more importantly happy to even decide to hit the sloops...That's not something you feel a lot these days with stores like Dicks and Buckeye Sports Center.

the only problem is now... looks like i caught the ski fever!

thanks again guys!

-Rich

Yes, Bob would be that certain salesman, honestly, the best ski shop in the area is aspen ski and board down in columbus

As an employee of BCS this thread makes me sad. I have worked there for 4 years now and honestly it’s a great place to work. Over the past 4 years I have worked hard to improve the stores selection from goggles, outerwear, and hard goods. I have personally sat down with the owners and managers on multiple occasions to discuss what needs to be done to improve customer satisfaction. If you have had a bad experience there before I suggest you give it another try. I know in the past BCS has employed some people who have no business working in the ski industry, which has killed the reputation of this store. Trust me it makes me sick to see some of the employees completely fail to make the customers happy. However this year we have better products and employees then we have ever had. Our ski wall and boot selection is top notch and I personally guarantee if you come to me Mike Burrows for help you will not leave disappointed.

The internet is the best thing that has happened to shopping for ski equipment in Northeast Ohio.
Unless you value a wide selection of beginner intro packages and merchandise trampled all over the ground at the open house.

3 years ago I went in to get a pair of boots fitted, told the fitter exactly what i was looking for, and recommended a 60 flex womans boot. I laughed and walked right out the door, never came back. Not sure if it's changed since then but it lost all credibility to me
