Buck hill is so terrible

I payed 40 bucks for a night ticket and i regret it so much. I know most people who go there arent big park guys but wtf the park is so horrible. They have a pipe but not more than 3 rails in a line? Plus they put a donkey tail rail flat on the ground, no ine is gonna hit that cause its like a sharp ass 45 degree angle. Plus the tow rope moves at magic carpet speed. I know i did this to my self but goddamn it sucks.

Sucks to hear that park. Looked sick. I know caleb from tline/destoy was building it for a few years. Always looked super fun and know they have a pipe. But damn that's shitty. Hopefully it was still fun enough. Bummed it didnt live up to the hype for you though.

Even until last year the layout was aight. Dunno what happened this year

I’m reading this as I’m chilling in the park and 100% agree. It’s my first time here so maybe the current set just isn’t great but yeah it’s impossible to hit more than 2 or 3 features in a line.

Tbh it would be acceptable if the tow rope wasnt so slow

Real shame to hear this. Didn't Andy Parry's tell a friend tour just go there? and they couldn't even put together a decent park for that? pretty lame

Actually thats the only reason i went but i missed them so that kinda bummed me out for the day

haha 1817 park was the only good thing to that place. New owners unfortunately don’t let the park crew build the stuff they really want. Plus the owners will fire you if their spoiled son tells them to cause he doesn’t like you :)

Tbh, I'm a shitty park skier who only skis Buck. The park not only has only a few rails. But up until recently, they havent even had just a simple flat or slightly down rail/box that is low to the ground. Like I'm pretty shit and old and learning. I dont want to learn on some flat rail with a 45 degree donkey dick at the end that's as tall as I am.

They can have big, fun, creative features. But please, for the love of God, put some more beginner friendly rails up so I can learn without getting wrecked.

Until then, I'll just hit the only 5 foot flat rail they have.

They are the reason I went to buck and they made the trip worth it for sure. It was pretty cool seeing Andy and the rest of the tell a friend tour crew even though the park wasn’t super great. Buck did have a couple small things that were fun to mess around on but I feel like they could do way better.

Damn

Ayo!

Thanks for coming. Definitely a weird year to do the tour but glad people showed up and rode with us.

Let me know what you would like to see in the park, or done differently and maybe I can pass it on. If we can help in someway we would like to try.

Also the rope was completely flush with the ground and if there wasnt a constant flow of people going up little kids and unaware people would generally congregate at the bottom while someone struggles to pick it up. Not a huge problem and maybe I'm just used to having a good resting level rope but just something that was bothering me while there last night

Honestly i have no idea if thats the fastest the rope can go but if it can go faster please make it do so. The features were ok but i think you should replace the pipe with some rails because ive seen maybe 5 people actually use the pipe and get air.

That pipe has been then since i started learning to ski in the 90s. I think I've seen only a handful of people actually enjoy it and less people be able to get air out of it. One year there was a actual pipe competition series for snowboarders. It was dope as kid seeing the pipe lit up and someone getting air while you passed it on 35.

I was really hoping they would get rid of the pipe when it changed owners. I always thought it would be super dope to make a double booter jump line in the pipe lane. They could make a base for the jumps so they don't have to blow dumptrucks worth of snow to make a decent feature.

Tbh having a pipe is cool but feel like its just not worth it anymore and id rather have some rails and jumps

I swear Buck will never get rid of that pipe. They love flexing that they have the only half pipe in the midwest, but I rarely ever see anyone hitting it. Seems like a lot of time and money that could be better directed elsewhere

It’s a weird flex.

Man idk. Old pipes are like tuckers. Maybe they're beat up and nobody really uses them but there's just something about them. Hold onto your pipes. Honestly any pipes that survived to that last 5 years or so I really route for.

Maybe this puts buckhill on the list of places to look into for me. I like pipes.

Id still love to see someone shred that pipe, so more power to you

Not sure about this season but last season they had a pipe the same size as the one at buck at spirit mountain. Ive rid both and the one at spirit was so far better at least on the day that I was there.
