Buck Hill Dryslope

Finally the midwest will have year round skiing and boarding at Buck hill in MN. Neveplast artificial snow is being installed and looks sick af, until you fall.. Opening this Friday (September 23rd)! Stoked to see what this brings to the midwest.

My mountain uses that for their airbag in the summer. That stuff is nasty to fall on (snowboarding on that nevplast is hard af). I just wished they used softer material for landings.

Definitely gonna check it out, gotta wait on my skis to get out of the shop tho...

DO NOT! Do no what so ever! Do no use your main skis on this. They will get DESTROYED

Gonna be there Saturday with Swandog & AnGaper and a couple other of our crew. We'll be there all day

Lol figured it wouldn't be good for em, was planning on using my beater k2 presses. Thanks for confirming this tho. Shop has my boots tho so won't make it this weekend :(

It complete bullshit they used Nevaplast all over. Where they set up rails they should have used snow flex. Its gonna suck to fall but regardless it should quench a little thirst for skiing. I may have a write up on it this weekend

I think I would rather just not ski than fall on that stuff.

Haha yah its a really brittle surface, they were more worried about carving on it (Buck is big on racing) than actually falling on it.

So what's the optimal trade off between burning to death and ending the day with skin clothing wise?

I can't speak for when your going really fast but just falling off of rails and stuff isn't too bad, it just kind of feels weird. It doesn't really cut your skin open that easy either unless you really slide on it.

At the place that used to have it here everyone I knew would just wear shorts and try not eat shit. You could probably wear track pants and be fine, which has the added bonus of making you a trendy #kitgod

I can confirm

we ripped the shit out of it and came away with minimal injuries.

I still frequent buck. If anyone cares to, look for the most aerodynamic, and loud skier, and just yell "AnGaper."

It'll prolly be me.

This looks way worse than snowflex imo. Definitely shred some snowflex if you ever get the chance, it's the best summer skiing I've had short of making the pilgrimage to hood

Most likely, just look for a tall skinny kid with a camera.

Change of plans!! Since there's a 60% chance of rain on Saturday I'm gonna go tomorrow instead. Will either of you be there?
