A child could write a top 10 pop song.
Pop these days is garbage few to you through the radio. They tell you who to like, and you love the new song. Then the next song comes out and you forget about the other one.
There's no longevity to it. That's why I can't take it seriously as a genre. Do people really like it because it's an amazing song? Or do they just like it because it's the mildly catchy tune the radio's been playing 3 times an hour for the last week.
I'm not saying that times and tastes don't change, I just think if something is really good music, it will still have some sort of value later on.
We pick up the new song then cast it aside for the next song, never really caring about either, or really being capture by them. I feel like that reflects the way our society is these days. We love something only until the next thing comes out and then we cast aside the other one and forget it ever existed.
The music industry is a joke.
