Bruised ankles...

Well... I had slalom training yesterday (ya. ya.. gay racer) and was first time I used my boots since March or so... I had some teething issues with the boots to begin with but after a week of use they seemed fine.

Now.. I have the worst feet for ski boots.. flat wide feet. I had some generic insoles but I took those out.. and also took out the soles that came with the boots.

Anyway! The insides of my ankles are bruised today and was wondering if theres anyway to stop this? Cause... I can see this being a bitch for when I ski one week straight. I don't remember having this issue when I was on skiing on snow and think it maybe because I was on the dry slope and cause my skis kept slipping that that put some pressure on the ankles...

Sparknotes: Went skiing, inside of ankles are bruised... anyway to stop this?

Go to your local boot fitter and get him to help you.

You could probably get some of that stuff they put on the tongue when your shins get bruised for your ankles. But if you get any of this is bad for racing. If you want to seriously race you don't want to get the ankles blown out and the ankle is the control point for your boot. It will mean when you ski again on real snow your ankles will move, you'll have less control and the skiis reaction time will be slower equalling slower races.

you def need to see a fitter, and is there any L or C pads? if so make sure they didn't shift, but stating that you have a flat foot it is probly solvable with a heel lift to reposition the ankle, this is stating that the shell fit was right in the first place.
