Just saw a commercial, and it showed brother ali performing self taught, and showed his tour dates....the song is pretty old to the "skiing community" but thoughts on this? i think its cool he is finally getting some more recognition because he has some sick songs
 
Brother Ali has always been pretty damn mainstream. I live in a hick town and half the kids here know a few of his tracks.

Don't kid yourself, you didn't hear him first and he was never really underground.
 
looks like this thread was a fail, where im from only kids i ski with know about him, ad just 1 other kid i know who doesnt ski or ride knows about him, i always considered him pretty underground.
 
kids who don't really like rap or hip-hop don't know about him. then there are kids like my loser friends who have ipods that go something like "soulja boy, dl incognito, t-pain, rich boy, atmosphere, chris brown, eminem, brother ali, classified, akon." i always wondered what NSers meant when they said stuff like DL and Ali was "underground." i suppose it depends on who you know.
 
i said brother ali wasn't underground. the fact that my friends are losers is in no way related to what their ipods have on them.

i don't really care .. i don't care if an artist is underground or mainstream.. i just like certain music..just cause most of it happens to be "underground" i don't feel the need to protect the "under-groundness" of a person i've never met. just listen to the music
