is this really dumb? i broke my wrist last week and the doc said 10 wks no skiing...my ass. It doesn't hurt anymore and i'm wondering how many of you have skied through an injury. Any advice?

if u got a cast ur fine if u can hold ur poll i did it last year after like 2 weeks just to be safe sucks though i ogt a broken collar bone now

dude, dont fuck around with that shit, my friend broke his wrist, had it in a cast and thought it was alright to ski, 6 weeks into healing he fell on it with the cast on, broke it again, needed surgery to hold the bone in place and then had to wait another 12 weeks in a cast.

that sucks about the collar bone. i've been trying to figure out some way to hold a pole but my cast is too damn bulky so i can't get a good grip

i gotta figure something out

Yea I busted my wrist last year. I was told 6 weeks but within 2 I was skiing again. Just be carful and dont go crazy and try not to fall directly on it.

Your wrist is a bitch. I broke it last year and it took me 6 months to heal, and even after it healed it still never felt right.

If you broke/fractured one/some of the small bones in your wrist then give it a while, the problem is that those bones don't have direct blood flow to it so it takes a hell of a long time to fix.

I had a full arm cast for 2 months.

Take it seriously, if you are too rough on it then it may never heal correctly and you can have problems with it for the rest of your live.

I ski'd with my ful arm cast, but I was eazy on it.

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

damn that sucks. i do feel lucky compared to you! i only broke my radius/ulna but fell the exact same way. it's hard cause i've never had a real injury before and i'm not good at taking it easy.

I'm a nurse so I should say stay of the snow while your wrist is healing

But I've broken my wrist a couple of times and continued skiing

Watch out when you got surgery though, cause you don't want to break all the iron shit they might have placed there

And keep in mind that a broken wrist NEVER fully heals, you always get an amount of stiffness in the joint

so use wrist guards (then your arm will break, not the wrist, gives a lot less complications)

I broke my wrist last year and the doc said 10 weeks....I was out to colorado the next day. Get some gloves that will fit over the cast and ski like the bitch you are.

omg that is not right to do to anyone with those pins and fucking rods in your wrist, i would rather they just cut it off

What the hell were they doing with a car on the moon?... havent they gone far enough?
