Broken Skis

today i broke my first pair and i feel like such shit because i progressed the most this year on them and i tried to keep them in the best shape possible. do any of you get a bit emotionally attached to your skis? +K for stories about this so i dont feel like such a dumbass for getting sad over a pair of skis

Same way with my first pair (K2 fours) great ski (probably like snow blades now tho) so woried about brakin me i never use em'

I love my skis. I had k2 public enemies and when I snapped them I was terribly upset. They now hang on my wall right above my bed.

I just retired my reno jibs. I gave them both a parting kiss after I kicked out of them for the last time. They will soon be accompanying my public enemies.

im definitely mounting the ones i just broke in my room also. i had the Line 2014 future spins and i brought them with me the first time i went out west to windells and i rode them so much this season that my parents were begging me to stay home instead of going skiing.

blowing out bindings and breaking skis are the worst feelings ever. sip to your skis man. its my worst pair to blow out another pair of bindings and make the core mush :(

breaking skis is a right of passage. its bittersweet but you know you went hard if you made it happen. I pretty much exclusively buy used skis now and go through 2-3 pairs a season

I bought a pair of ninthwards this year because they were ridiculously cheap. Have to admit I was very skeptical and starting to find another pair of skis. I put these things through hell and back, and they are still in good condition. Gonna be sad when i have to hang them up

im hoping not to get to that point.

My ski shop mounted my binding weird so the plate that the heel is on can move up an down about a fourth of a cm. Its super sketchy

vibes, I made a long board from scratch two years ago, took me 2 weeks to finally mount and ride it, first day riding I snapped it in half, go emotionally attached to it tho before it broke.

I know what you mean i still use my first pair of rossignol scratches that are mounted like 3 or 4 back and I hate them and how slow they spin and my s7 pros but i love them because they are mine and we have been through so much shit and dirt and rocks ect.

alright i got another question for you guys. im looking into getting another pair of future spins again and i found the '14 ones at a decent price but i also found the '15s for like $20 cheaper. The only problem is that i really dont like the top sheet on the '15s. What do?

My old EP Pros delam'd and the shop had to put a saw through them to get a credit from the distributor (I guess so I couldn't claim warranty then try to epoxy them back together or something?)

Made me a bit sad, had some epic times and great memories on those skis.

Do you like the 14's topsheet $20 more? If so pay the 20...I mean it's only $20.

The fact that im still riding my Moment Teams is ridiculous. No edges under foot, base is bubbling on the edges where there is no metal edge, chunks of base are ripped off, sidewall is what ive started to grind rails on. I just love the ski way to much. i wish they still made it.

Completely grinded off the underfoot edge on my pipe cleaners. Hoping to get it fixed by this weekend. If not, then I'll just use my pow skis.

I haven't had a pair of skis go more than 20 days without delaming in the last 4 years. Learned to not love or give a damn about my skis because I know I will delaminate in about 10 days of skiing.

Calling you out ski industry to make something that doesn't have steel in it that wont delam in a season for me. on3p so far is my last hope.

I got a pair of ace of spades for christmas last year used them for the first time on the 27th of december and they got a ton of chips which made me really sad because it was my first real pair of twin tips. Recently I lost a chunk of edge and a week ago I noticed delam and the base was separating from the base. It made me pretty sad that I would have to get new skis, especially because I have to pay for them this time.
