Broken skis, broken dreams

Sup guys, so over my spring break I went to big bear and snow summit (which is much better than bear) with my schools ski club (Asu) and the worst thing in the world happened. After skiing an 8-10 inch powder day on some fat skis I decided to take out my head the caddys for some spring, bluebird laps. On my first run in just skiing around, scoping features and I see this super low risk butter box and decided to try a 540 surface swap. End up spinning to much and fall maybe 6 inches onto snow on my Hip and my right ski pops off. At this point I have about 100 yards left till the lift and look down and see my ski looks funny.

So guys, I am being unreasonable about being about this shit happening off a butter box? i just cant believe a company's flagship park/pipe ski can just crumble on the smallest feature on the mountain.

Fucking cry about it.

But seriously, regardless of how it happened, how old are they? Are they under warranty? Do you have your receipt or can you get your receipt for them? Every now and then a reputable company has a lemon that slips through the cracks, you may have that one pair, unfortunately. Do something about it though. Would love to hear a success story.

Call their warrenty if your not a dick to them and try to be sensible and explain the situation they will do whatever they can to help you

I probably would have ripped out the edge that's sticking out and kept skiing. I skied all of last month with little underfoot edge on both skis, and a large amount of base missing.

Dude, I am missing a 2 inch piece of rail on my park skis. My deep powder skis edges are peeling off the ski while pulling the base out of the ski. They are so destroyed, but I still can ride them.

Trust me dude, a crack in the edge just means your ski has a limited lifespan. It does not mean your season is over. Next year, buy 3 pairs at the ski swap and never miss a day again from busted gear.

The question is, can you still see the grooves from where the teeth sat in the ski its possible bad adhesive in the ski didn't hold the edge in after it cracked dont feel bad man, I ripped out 5 inches directly underfoot on my revision dimes 30 days into the ski on a flat box was like are you kidding me. Hit them up and try to get your warranty or ask for a single ski replacement

Any park-related stuff specially edge damage from sliding rails/boxes will not be covered. Hit up the shop you bought them from, be very nice and don't act like an idiot trashing the company, brand, model, etc.

Explain how you feel this was a freak defect and how you completely understand they will not be covered under normal warranty because you use them in the park. Ask to see if there's anything they can do to help out and you'll spread the good word about the company, bla bla bla.

Being nice is the best way to go about things.

You probably dragged the edge on the box while you were spinning which caused it to crack. This is pretty normal as far as skiing Park goes, and like a lot of people will tell you: don't be a pussy.

Unless Head's warranty process has changed, they just want you to send them the skis, and they will make a decision from there. No phone calls or emails required. I shipped them a pallet full of skis with delaminating topsheets.

But if there is any evidence that you hit anything other than snow, they probably won't be covered.
