So I broke my Calcaneous in my heel on the first run of the day in Kings Crown at Park City! Lmao soo embarasssing..but, Doc says Im out for 10 weeks and the way Im healing Im thinking it'll only be 7 weeks tops. So hopefully I can hit some late spring riding.

Just wondering if any of you have broken your heel/Calcaneus? And, how long did it take to heal?

i've broken both, hurts like hell for a long time. well, since the bone is porous you dont actually break it, its getting crushed.

Broke mine playing hockey 2 years ago, hurts like a bitch. Just stay off of it and let it heal up, you really don't want it to get re-injured.

I cracked my heel relatively early last season. The doctor told me i should be on crutches for two weeks. i skied 9 days later but didn't hit anything for three weeks. Then i started hitting just rails and it hurt a little coming off them, and then i started hitting small jumps 4 and a half weeks after that. Big jumps about six-seven weeks after. Then it was fine.

Thats funny, I did that the day Kings crown opened this year. I dont think mines fully broke but I still can't ski :/

I broke both of mine overshooting a jump in steamboat 3 years ago. It shouldn't take you long to heal if you stay off it, I think I was skiing in 5 or 6 weeks.

Thanks for the feedback. I broke it hittin a 50 footer in Kings Crown cause I speed checked thinking I was going to fast, and ate the knuckle. HARD! The shitty thing is I was busting a straight air to test the speed. lol that didn't work too well. If only I could of atleast been throwing a 7 haha. Hey your never gonna be good without a big injury right? Thx again my fellow newschoolers!

Interesting, the calcaneous was an answer on my anatomy midterm. True story.

+++vbes, that must have been a hard hit.

This sucks, and i havent broken those, but two weeks ago i did the reverse, thouhgt i was going a little slow for the jump so i took no speed check, over shot the jump and broke my wrist catching myself and stress fractures in my shins from the landing, all this 2nd run doing a straight air to test the speed of the jump, so i feel for you

i broke mine. i was in a full foot mid shin cast for a pretty long time. i was the captain of the ski team and it ruined my shit. it sucks.

I fractured both of mine 4 years ago. Worst feeling I've ever had, not being able to stand. It still kills sometimes. took me about 4 weeks to ski, didn't hit big jumps again until the next year
