hey I just fractured 2 bones in my hand (metacarpals)normaly it takes 6-8 weeks to heal, but It took me 3 and a half weeks to get cast off, then I had a removal splint that I was supposed to wear for 4 weeks but took it off after 2. So your looking at 3 to 5 weeks. Just try not to use ut when it's in the cast at all, it will get better.

Hopefully I will be skiing the Big K in VT until January, and the other K in CA for the rest of the season.

yah and their small fractures, i'm gonna be drinking milk and doing everything possible to heal this beast up, and it's kinda good in a sense because i'll be able to get some good footage for our video

And while you are healing be good to your body. Don't smoke and drink, eat right and down the milk. You'll be good to go soon. You should wait over five weeks though. Bones can start to connect and feel strong, but are still suseptable to further fracturing. I did my metacarpal and it took 5 and a half weeks to be solid.

schmies's got it down. drink your milk, lay off the crack, and you'll be good to go in no time!

i broke both my hands last year. and was out almost 7 weeks. I drank lots of milk while the casts were on but still 7 weeks. I was out about 3/4 quarters of the season. its a pain. hopefully yours heal faster than mine. Dont ski until the doctors tell you to. dont fuck it up worse than it is.

i broke three bones in my hand a few years ago, as well as a bone in my wrist (all hairline fractures)... it was unusable for close to 6 months, and i couldn't lift anything heavier than say 50 pounds for the next year without fairly severe pain (i deliver office furniture/equiptment/supplies so that was a big problem). Of course, keep in mind i didn't go to the doctor or get a cast or anything, and I kept skiing and working (pole planting with my left hand was nonexistant for a whole season). I got an xray something like 14 months after the incident. oops.

i bet your better in a month or a shade less. unless you smoke, then your screwed.

This summer I suffered a hairline fracture to the bone right below the pinky finger while mountain biking. I didn't go see a doctor for xrays until about 6 weeks after the crash. It was bad enough that I couldn't do heavy lifting using my pinky finger and I couldn't do any pushups until late October. Even now, if I put pressure on that side of my hand, its not as strong as the other hand. Keep in mind though, that I waited a long time to go see the doctor and never used a cast or anything. Drink your milk and don't do anything stupid, you'll probably be fine in a month.

yeah man just take it easy for a while, drink your milk, all that good stuff

i shattered one of the lower bones in my hand...like near the fatty part that extends from your pinky...it only took 4 weeks. I'm a fats ehaler, but you'll be good in 5 weeks.

i broke my hand in football season, right next to the thumb. i didnt even leave the field, you should be fine. however, it does sometimes hurt when people shake your hand

i just got my cast on and doc said it'll be about 4 weeks and i should be good, so thats not to bad, still shitty but could be worse

MAINE, THE WAY LIFE SHOULD BE.

Work out with you un broken hand/arm...your body tries to stay proportionate so when your cast comes off your muscles will get stronger faster. At least that is what I have heard and makes sence.

maybe you should ask your doctor who actually knows what he's talking about

Girlfrind or skiing? Damn, so many tough decisions!

I just recently broke my hand... i had to have surgery ( 2 pins put in), which was last Wednesday and I will be in a cast until January 18th... But I dont think you destroyed ur hand quite like i did by the sounds of things..

Nah, I actually did it rockin some guy in the grill that called me a bitch. I think I got the worst of it tho, cuz his ass only got KO'd....

I have skiers thumb in my right hand and it lasts all season into late june when I get it, it is a ligament connecting my thumb to my wrist and is the worst pain ever. If I had broken bones in my hand I would def not stop skiing, just make sure the cast is light and rock one pole for gangster-injury.

I was skiing when i had stitches and staples holding my finger on my hand after it was taken off by a saw.
