Broken fibula

Hey guys

I was wondering if any of you has some experience with broken fibulas. I broke mine on the tramp yesterday and was wondering how soon I might be back on skis again.

The doctor said somethink about surgery on monday, then 6 weeks of "rest" with smaller activities.

DOes anyone have experiences with this? Would be awesome, +k will be given :D

looks like the doctor told you already. you should ask him. NS will be like "PUSSY, ski with it broken, the boot will act as a cast"

Thats a big injury, take the time you should take and even more, let your bone regenerate and them take some time at the gym. Do not hurry your body, be patient.

broke my ankle last september and it was real hard to ski like at all last season. i was only able to get out like once a week for a couple hours taking a break halfway through for like thirty minutes to rest my ankle. just be sure to take rehab seriously and dont rush it. i rushed back to skiing cause i couldnt handle being away from it too longer and i dont really regret it but i re-hurt myself. vibes man ankles suck

I broke my tibia and fibula at the same time. I was in a mid thigh cast for 9 weeks and a wheel chair for the first 2.

Mu friend broke her fib decking it coming off a box. Hers went back into place and so didnt need a operation but it took 10 weeks before she felt comfotable riding on it again and even then she partialy fractured it again while skiing so i would say safely 12 weeks no riding but people are different. She had to teach gym so was pushing it as soon as she could, which was around 6 weeks, which was probably detrimental to the healing.

I broke my fibula along with my tibia and it was a three month recovery. but your tibia is a much bigger bone so it probably took a little longer than you will. with that said my fibula is actually about 50% offset so I'm thinking it doesnt matter a whole lot.

Broke my tib and fib in September a few years ago. Was skiing by February. Though I bet your recovery will be quicker than mine.

Well thanks for the info guys :D I hope everything will go well with the surgery and shit (my first one actually :D) I just hope I can ski again in December...
