Alright

I was recently at Mt.Hood as a digger suppose to be there for 8 weeks

5 days in fucked myself up went to the hospital and my collarbone was broken , its weird though cause it didnt hurt that much at all , and now its been about 2 weeks and it really doesn't hurt at all , I can tell its still broken and not fully healed but everyone's been saying I should be in a lot more pain and shouldn't be able to do what I can...

currently I am taking calcium pills , magnesium pills , Arnica stuff that helps with healing

but there is this water ramp thing I want to go to thats 10 days at water ramps at the end of august , should I be able to water ramp by the end of the month?

and what else is there that I can do to heal this faster!

thanks!

I was in so much pain when i broke mine. A friend of mine had a brother who was hardly in any pain though. I don't know i guess it matters. Ask your doctor, i know i had to wait longer than that though before i could do something like that.

yaaa thats what I heard to

but yaa Im pretty sure its healing super fast

I just want to be able to water ramp at the end of august and dont know if i can

OUCH! I broke my leg twice this winter. Doesn't really have anything to do with a collar bone, but what the heck. The second time was weird because it didn't hurt, but it just wouldn't move. I think broken bones are stupid for the sport of skiing even though there's no way of getting around it because it's a sport. So all we can really do is to hope for no more broken bones and try to be more careful (which is why I broke it twice). Good Luck with that I was in bed for like two months (missed two months of school). How didn't it hurt though? You're so lucky the first time for me was a bitch.

yaaa also people were sayying how much it sucks to sleep

I can sleep however I want and it doesnt really bother me

and yaa lots of my friends have broken theres and dont understand why it doesnt it and Im not in pain

and it doesnt hurt to press where the break was(confused)

When I fractured mine, I went skating a month later when I no longer felt anypain what so ever. I fell and and reijured it. It wasn't broken but I couldn't do anything to excessive for the next week. How old are you?If you are still in the mid teens you should be fine, but ramping may but too much shock. I dunno tho, its up to you and specific to your case.

thats about six weeks of total healing time that should be good just dont huck it to hard on the water ramps like take it chill and you should be all good. I had a friend break his at MT. Snow this year and he healed up super fast he broke it on feb. 26th and was back by april 1st.

i broke mine at the end of the season

i thought i just dislocated my shoulder

then it only hurt for like 2 weeks

i went skiing the next weekend

Ya how long ago did you break it?And you're at a good age because your bones are still growing so they heal faster. Do they bubble the ramps?

i think youll be alright, i busted my collarbone about 2 months ago, it felt just about healed 3 and half weeks afterwards

I had a compound fracture in my humeral head (outside corner of the shoulder) along with a rotator cuff tear. It hurt like hell and it was nine weeks before I went skiing again.Just be careful. Also consider a follow up x-ray to see if/how your collar bone is healing. Doctors usually give you a conservative time of return. Just listen to your body, and go from there.

i broke mine this year and it hurt when i moved any part of my upper body for the first few weeks.. but it all depends on how bad you break it

i couldnt even tell i broke mine, granted, i broke my arm, and all the ribs on my right side at the same time haha.

I broke mine 2 years ago... it's when the 2 parts of the broken bone are touching each other that's hurt as hell !

when the 2 broken bones part don't touch each other.. it's ok and maybe a piece of bone cut a nerve...

but it's a good thing for you that it dosen't hurt at all, just take it smoothly and you should be ok in 1 month.

Yeah, I broke mine about 4 years ago and I wasn't in hardly any pain at all. But I would advise to take it easy for about a month until you know its fully heeled

but with a collerbone even if you fucked it up at the ramps you have a solid 2.5-3 months before the season starts

yaaa but this ramps thing is like 1100 cash moneys so I want it to be good for then

and Im going to throw dubs so I dont want this in the way

It takes a while for a collar bone to fully heal depending on the break. It's not worth pushing it and having a messed up shoulder for the rest of your life. I started using my arm a little earlier than I should have when I broke my collar bone and it healed a bit weird, so now I have a sharp bump sticking out of my shoulder. Just chill, see a doctor, and listen to what they say.

Chances are, you wont be good to do the water ramps unless you want to jack your shoulder up even more. But it's your body, go ahead and have a few days of fun in exchange for a lifetime of regret. Don't be stupid, not worth it.

doctors just say time cause they learn about medications

they dont know as much with all natural stuff like arnica and all that crap

I was just wondering if anyone knew anything

My friend broke his collar bone when he flipped over his bars on a bike and the collar bone totaly popped outta the sking and he went to COC 3 and 1/2 weeks later and he was fine so i don't know his heal super fast.

Dude you make me sick.. your telling me that people on NS know more than doctors..i think you lost your mind. Go to doctors or else you could really mess your self up

Dang, that sucks. I broke mine at A-basin 3 years ago. It broke clean down the middle, and i elected to get surgery. Now I have 7 screws and a titanium plate running alongside my right clavicle. it seems a little early to be doing the water ramps in August, but I would suggest just listening to your doctor on when to get active again.

yeah for sure your good, i broke mine this winter and 3 weeks later i was hittin jumps again, not sure if that was a good idea thoguh

i broke my collar bone and it didnt hurt very much at all but my friend broke his 3 times, this was because he would go out before it was fully healed so dont do anything that would even give you a chance of breaking it agian. Also if you do break it agian theres a possiblility im told that you can be stabbed in the lung by your bone.

my sister broke her collar bone playing field hockey and she was hysterical with pain all the time. She screamed super loud every time i tried to help her off the couches and such because she couldn't take it. thats strange though that you feel no pain at all....
i suggest milk....

I've broken mine twice and in all honesty, it wasn't really painful. I mean yeah, it hurt, but not really. Sprained ankles and dislocated shoulders hurt WAY more in my opinion. I think it depends on the situation. For example, if you're skiing and you land on your shoulder from 15 ft up, its not going to hurt that much because of the massive adrenaline rush you'll have. However, I'm sure if you're just standing around and somebody punches and breaks it, you're going to feel considerable amounts of pain.

yaaaa I was in like noo pain at all , I didnt even know I broke it at first

but yaaa my mom got me an appointment with a bone something that looks at how its healing and all that stuff!

The same thing happend to me for a half year back .

But i only waited for 5 days after i broke the collarbone to ski ;D

It dident hurt anything to break it , and i skied for like 6 hours with broken collarbone :P

And now it is all fine :D

a long time ago we put my bro's friend on a bike and let him ride around while we shot him with a paintball gun after he broke his collarbone like a week before. i guess it just doesnt hurt some people as much. theres video of that btw, if anyone is interested

yaaa I did 1 and a half onto my chest and dropped from like 15 feet to flat

just had the wind knocked outta me and just thought i broke my thumb

then skied down to ski patrol like 30 min ago after feeling my collar bone like bent up

My friend doesnt ski but is an amzing mtn biker. He broke his collar bone twice last season and then unknowingly broke it earlier this year. He was riding pain free for weeks before he found out. This is the 7TH time he has broken that bone. The doctor told him its not really healed only about 75% and and it will stay that way but the scar tissue built up and holds it or somerhing like that. It's really weird but you should go to your doctor.
