Broken Bones

With all the friends that I know that have had them so far, Broken bones are seeming to be the injury of choice this early season... (ACL's were last year)

Make a list of everything you have broken/fractured (and how many times) whist skiing.

For me its: R. Ulna (1) L. Thumb (2) R. Thumb (1) R. Collarbone (1) R. Ribs (3) L. Ribs (1) L. Index (1) R. Pinkie (2) L. Foot (1)

GO!

broken bones are not even an injury. pffff.

only thing I broke was my fibula (right leg) and I was skiing the next day. Heck, I was skiing the SAME day.

Right now my MCL is parially torn.

And this is the only ingury I've ever had. Hope fully the last. ( Knock on wood.)

Yeah.. my friend just broke T6 and 10...

But shes broke about 7 others... so iono even what else shes got...

i broke some bones in my right foot casing a jump. probably woud've been fine if my bindings hdent released, probably should have bought better bindings. . .

Or maybe set them correctly?

If they released and were set right, youre probably lucky you only broke bones... if they were set wrong, go bitchslap whoever binded them...

Acls will always be the injury of the year. I know that i'm definitely not the only one waiting for surgery at this point.

they were set fine. they just released. i did land a little back seat but i dont think that should have released em. doesnt really matter cause i got new skis and bindings and my foots all healed now.

damn. good luck to her. i was on bed rest for about 3 months, then limited mobility after that (wheel chair, eventually crutches..). it sucks. seriously, if shes on bed rest or something, get some friends and go see her as much as possible, cause thats what kept me from going insane when i was stuck in bed. best of luck to her.

right and left thumb, acl and mcl tear, broken shoulder, collar bone, ankle, dislocated shoulder.

right fibula twice, right ulna twice (operated on once), left ulna once, ruptered my discus vertebrae once, moved one of the bones of both my thumbs, bilateral ski thumb

that's about it

I broke my back in 3 places at the end of last season.

2 fractures on the 4th lumbar; one on each side. 1 fracture on the 3rd lumbar; right side.

8 months later and im still fucked up. so not hot right now...

i know someone who use to say i drink so much milk i dont break bones. well earlier this year he broke his coller bone. watch what you saay

Left radius and ulna at he same time about 5 weeks ago i just got the cast off but it doesnt really move alot

3 bones in one foot, 1 in other, 3 joints in my toes (i can pop them in and out!!) broke my left ankle sprained my right, broke right leg, fractured other, fractured growth plate in hip, broke right shoulder, left arm, right wrist twice, left wrist once, broken 3 bones in my right hand, 4 fingers, one thumb, 3 knuckles on my right hand, fractured my jaw, broke collarbone, 5 concussions, and im only 14...

left thumb hella bad

partially torn rotator cuff (not realy a bone)

a bunch of fingers

wrist (i think it was my left)

haha shes skiing in 2 weeks.

she says youre a pussy for being in 3 months bed rest for a compression fracture...

I cant really say anything because ive never broken a back... but according to her, you either had the worst compression fracture known to man, or youre a wuss...

Iono... according to me, any broken bone requires a shitload of rest... especially spine fracs...

welll...the doctor said i couldnt move or anything for pretty much 3 months. and the x-rays looked like my bones exploded so, yeah it was really bad.

maybe you just had relly fuckin bad fractures...

haha my friend needs help getting off the toilet... she cant pee alone and we are having the biggest fucking laugh over it too...

Yeah, if anything, I consume too much calcium. My multi-vitamin contains extra calcium for women (osteoperosis prevention), I take three Viactiv calcium chews per day, consume gallon of milk in a 2-3 day period, and (other than water) the only other stuff I drink is Tropicana orange juice with calcium.

My list includes:

T6, T9, T10, L1, L4, L6 vertebrae

Sternum

9 Ribs

Right ulna (4x)

Right radius

Left ulna

Left radius

Every finger and toe, some of them as many as five times

Right metacarpal

Two right metatarsals

Couple carpals in my right wrist

Skull fracture

Mild fractures in my right hip (pelvis and femur) caused by lack of cartilage...

Left orbital

I guess not all of those were necessarily done by skiing, but a good number of them were. It's been fun.

ps: Sean, my inability to piss alone is NOT that funny! I can pee alone, I just can't get off of the toilet, ha.

I might have broken a rib or 2 and a lot of fingers but i not sure cause goin to the doctor for both of those things is pointless.

depending on how bad the fracture is...

Hell.. on of my fractures in one of my fingers could have severed veins and shit if it want set back right... according to my doctor...
