hey today i landed a 180 and overshot the landing and my entire rear binding ripped out of my ski and my ski slid down to god knows where. I'm pretty sure that my binding isn't supposed to rip out like that. They were rossi scratch 120s on 06 ar5s. Am i SOL here since i lost the ski? i still have the broken binding but its only the heel piece.

because it happend so fast that by the time i even got up i realized that the ski was 2 billion miles away

are you serious? of course i looked. i searched for 2 hours. i have no idea where the fuck it went.

must look for it. it followed some sort of fall line, try to retrace a possible path, over and over untill you find it.

you should put a ton of effort into finding it otherwise, yes, you are shit out of luck.

ya i would have looked for it, if it hit the trees, then i highly doubt it went in far and if it did go into the bushes then you should be able to follow the track. GO LOOK FOR IT!

ok ill admit i am fucked and will end up buyign new skis and bindings. Now another question i have is...why the hell did my binding snap out like that?

i work at a ski shop and i'm pretty sure he did. Does anyone know if i can prodeal just one ski? that owuld help alot

not to sure about that.. that sucks that you lost 1 ski.. thats the first time ihave heard that happen to someone

well it could have ripped out for a number of reasons.

the problem with the older look/rossi bindings (im assuming the older version) is that the drill pattern is very small. the result of that is there is a lot of leverage because of the cantilevered plate (most of the plate is suspended far from the mounting location). if you overshoot a jump, land switch, your heel will be pulling on those screws with so much force (because of the large amount of leverage) that it isnt surprising they rip out.

ive ripped out 3 heel pieces so far this season, and it is really shitty. never will i mount my bindings without epoxy again

check it out genious, get a cheap ass ski thats layin round , hike up to wear you sucked ass and fell then point it in a similiar direction and push it, then fallow it with a search pattern, ITS A FUCKING 06 AR5 i would be out there in the middle of the night until i found it.

yeah dude and check the lost and found or ski patrol to see if anyone found a new ski. i wouldn't eat or sleep until my wandering plank was safe

i dont know but this whole story seems untrue to me. you lost your brand new ar5s and you dont find it worth to search them up. is there a canyon right under your kickers or what, a wood where there is no snow o you cant follow tracks, or what?

i didnt get it.

and the whole "ok well, i am about to buy new skis, no problem"-stuff makes me believe that this aint true.

but to get you an answer. i have never heard of special discounts for one ski in a case where someone lost one ski.

wow same thing happened to me, but i jumped off the cat track to a double black and when i was makin my turns the binding popped right outa my ski and flew into the woods, i found it and hiked back up tot he front side and skied on my only good one while holding all my broken shit...this was at 4:30 when the patrol was makin their rounds and when i got to the bottom they just looked at me purplexed like
