Broken ankle

So I broke my ankle towards the end of Oct and I'm pretty bummed... The x-ray showed I had a fractured fibula. My doctor said I have 4-6 weeks with the cast, and have to wait another 4-6 weeks after I get the cast off to return to sports. I never asked him about snowboarding specifically, and I don't wanna push my luck because I'm fucked if I break it a second time. I assume that I'll be fine by the end of Dec to mid Jan because the boots and bindings hold your ankle in place but who knows. Have you guys had any similar experiences with a broken ankle? If so any advice? It'd be greatly appreciated.

I broke my ankle, but in different bones. Here's a rough timeline.8 weeks: tried to ski for the first time. Could only carve down hills, no rails. They hurt.

3 months: skiing rails again

4-5 months: skiing again like I was before I broke my foot.

Don't push it man, you want to be strong when you go back. Take the time you now have to rehab properly.

Just dont push it, do what feels right. You dont want to fuck yourself up and make your recovery even longer.

I broke my fibula on MHSSC's trampoline in June. I was in a walking boot for 6 weeks and it was another 2 weeks after that before I felt comfortable resuming strenuous activity. It sucks but whatever you'll get through it. Just don't push it.

i did the same exact thing in the end of august and in the beging of november my doctor gave me the ok go do whatever i wanted, my leg muscle still isnt back where it used to be but its getting there. youll just miss a bit of the season just make sure you stay off it for as long as the doctor says so it heals well
