BRO. DO YOU EVEN LIFT.

i wish i had the shoulder mobility to overhead squat, but that's something i'll never be able to do.

one arm snatches, turkish getups.. and then your basic shoulder press, lateral/front raises, etc, are really all i can do. definitely my weak spot, but i guess thats what you get for the shoulder injuries i've had over the years.

Whoopdie-fucking-doo. Nobody cares that you stuck 2 plates on each side of your 25 pound bitch bar and did a half-rep before your spotter grabbed it from you because your elbows were shaking so violently.

she hung herself because bleach didnt work and 4chan trolled her after she died she just got tired of getting the shit kicked out of her

I'm not saying that it's a lot... The kid said I couldn't put up 200? And sorry I don't have a spotter because I work out in my basement but thanks. Best member on the site for sure goes to ARDickRider!

Huh, I doubt this. I've seen photos of you. I also know that I'm more muscular than you are and have been lifting nearly everyday for the past couple years. Despite tendinitis and rotator cuff injuries, my max bench is 155 for six. I don't see you benching 200. Provide a video and prove me wrong, though.

And Jay, I can't wait to see how you look for your next show! I'm just under sixteen weeks out from mine, and I'm on my first week back in the gym after being out for three weeks thanks to tricep tendinitis. Training during hunting season should be interesting....

hahahahahaha, you've seen picture of me on my profile from year ago? No pictures of me are relatively recent. You've seen photos of me? We aren't friends on facebook, instagram, etc.. So i dont know how'd you get pictures of me.

HATERS GONNA HATE. You mad or something? You've seen pictures of my face!?!!? OMG YOU CAN TELL BY MY FACE I CAN'T BENCH 200!

Nope, not mad, I just think you're full of shit. Have a friend take a video of you on your next chest day. If you do it without a spot, I don't see why it'd be a big deal. I'd have no problem asking someone to take a video of me doing what I claim to lift.

This is my twitter profile picture!!!! I'm fucking HUGE!!!!!!

IS THIS ENOUGH PROOF FOR YA?

~U d'nt kno me~

You're a girl, of course you're not gonna be able to bench as much as a dude. I don't see what the big fucking deal is here, 200lbs is not that heavy to bench? I can bench 200lbs and I've only been training for 6 weeks.

yeh 200 isnt too much especially if you're older than sixteen, i have really gone for a single rep since school i don't understand why people are so preoccupied with their max anyway its pretty useless strength

You've been lifting everyday for the past couple years and your max bench is 155? I think your doing it wrong.

yeh even with rotator cuff injuries, i quite athletic and i reckon i could could max out on 70 kg without any training as i usually start repping on 60 when i've stopeed for like half a year, either that or you're 10

Not everyone who works out is in high school and walks around the bench huffing and puffing for 10 minutes just to lay down and pound out one rep at 225.

Well tbh, I'd put my life savings on SDot being stronger than frenchy haha. I mean, everybody knows he has the physique of a 12 year old Ethiopian girl, and that SDot kills Moose with her bare hands for fun.

Frenchy, SDot is twice the man you are hahaha just give it up.

This.

She's probably in better shape and knows more about lifting and nutrition than most people in this thread. Also, notice how she said 155 for SIX. Six reps is far from a single rep max.

Oh I agree with you 100%, Frenchy is bitch made and Sdot is stronger than my dad, I just think arguing over how much weight someone can hoist into the air is pointless and dumb.

Well so is arguing over which group of pussies can kick a ball into a net more. All sports and competitive pursuits sounds fucking stupid if you think about them like that.

its funny cuz my friend and i got drunk at a margarita walk and he kept yelling "DO YOU EVEN FUCKING LIFT BRO!?" to me and my other friend in front of random people and throwing his raybans on the ground.

...guess you had to be there.

I'm 26, I weighed 135 pounds when I was benching 155, and I'm a female. My wrists are about as big around as some people's thumbs, which I cannot control. I put tons of focus into proper form, as I've had many injuries in the past. I now weigh 153 and am on my first week back in the gym after taking three weeks off of lifting because I had acute tricep tendinitis, caused by none other than pushing too much weight.

A typical chest & tri workout (once a week, 2-2.5 hours) consists of:

Decline Bench (15,10,10,10,15 [max weight ~175])

Tricep Overhead Two-Hand Dumbbell Press (20,8,8,8,20 [max 45])

Flat Bench (20,10,10,10,20 [max 135])

Close Grip Bench (20,8,8,8,20 [max 115])

Incline Bench (20,10,10,10,20 [max 95])

Tricep Kick-backs (20,8,8,8,20 [max 17.5])

Cable Fly (20,10,10,10,20 [max 20])

Tricep Rope Pushdowns (10,10,10,10,10 [max 40]) SUPERSET with:

Tricep Overhead Rope Extensions (10,10,10,10,10 [max 30])

Pec Dec Machine (30,10,10,10,30 [max 90]) SUPERSET with:

Pushups (Five sets to failure, minimum of 10)

The current workouts I've designed have me doing chest twice a week and back twice a week. My other chest day is a heavy chest day and much shorter which consists of:

Flat Dumbbell Bench (10,6,6,6,6 [max 60 each arm])

Incline Dumbbell Bench (10,6,6,6,6 [max 50 each arm])

Dips (5 sets of 12-15)

Incline Dumbbell Fly (20,10,10,10,10 [max 25 each arm])

Pec Dec (15,10,10,10,10 [max 100])

Decline Bench (10,10,10,10,10 [max 195])

I record all of my workouts in the green notebook in the photo below. My weights now are far less than they were a month ago (at least for arms and shoulders), as it's my first week back with lifting. Obviously, I have no idea what I'm doing, though...

Photos of the first time I hit 50#s dumbbells (for six) for flat bench a few months ago, and then another of what my shoulders looked like a few weeks before I got tricep tendinitis.

Haha thanks guys (Matt, you crack me up). I never do less than six reps, so I have no idea what my single rep max would be. So yeah, frenchy probably could do a 200 pound bench for a single rep; my brain's just not accustomed to thinking of lifting in terms of a single rep max, only a six rep max.

To the haters: I'd love for you to name three females who you know personally who could bench 20# over their body weight... Or who could even bench 20# under their body weight.

I'm excited to see what my weights will be now that my bodyweight is almost twenty pounds higher. :)

So you're a girl and you talk trash to frenchy. If I ever meet you in life I will allow you to have sex with me, or work out with me, or both.

yeh i was confused by the posts above apparently 155 wasn't a one rep max anyway, and you're clearly doing a lot of toning rather than rather than all out strength, my misunderstanding, very impressive by the way, at least from what i can guess, used to metric units

Sdot fucks shit up in the weight room. Shes the #1 (I think) contributor to the cult. And being a girl who can lift more than their bodyweight is saying a lot, especially with all her injuries. If I had to guess/estimate, Id say her one rep max is 185+

Eh, I won't do much in the way of toning until about a eight weeks out from my next competition (right now, I'm 15.5 weeks out). Right now, I'm really trying to "bulk". My off-season weight used to be 145, with my stage weight being 130. Right now, I'm 153, hoping to get up to 155-160 with my stage weight being around 140-145.

I gain muscle mass easily in my legs, so my biggest goal is to put on more upper body mass, particularly in my delts and lats (and get some more chest bulge and separation). Narrow shoulders runs in my family on both my paternal and maternal sides. Combine that with the fact that I'm 5'10" with long limbs, and it's extremely hard for me to put on mass (which makes competing against chicks who are 5'4"-5'5" even more challenging!). Prior to getting into weight lifting, I was an endurance athlete and never weighed more than 110 pounds (I was 5'11" and weighed 95 pounds when I graduated high school).

And thank you.

really? strange if i was really going for bulk i would be down on like 6 rep sets. shows how much i know...

Exactly, which is why I work the muscle groups that I'm trying to gain mass in twice a week, with one workout being a typical lift, and the other being a heavier, low-rep lift, as I described in my other post. Different things work for different people. ;)

Furthermore, my large muscles can move a lot more weight than my connective tissues and smaller muscle groups (forearms, especially) will allow. For example: my biceps could get through a ten-rep set of seated curls with 30# dumbbells, but my forearm cannot, even with wrist wraps on. So instead of doing five sets of 6-10 at 30#, I'll do five sets of 10-20 at 20#.

It sucks to not be able to increase my weights on certain exercises as much as I'd like, but other parts of my body just can't handle it, even with physical therapy and strengthening exercises for my smaller muscles. So for some things, I'll do 6-8 rep sets (certain chest, back, and leg exercises), but for most lifts, I'll start and end with high-rep sets and have a few 8-10 rep sets between.

I love to maximize on muscle confusion and am constantly tweaking my workouts (every four weeks, I'll completely change them up). There are other ways of promoting mass gains than high weight, low-rep workouts. Sure, my growth is slower than many people, but gaining muscle mass is typically difficult for women, anyway. I have two active rest days per week (which include core and cardio workouts), and my nutrition probably plays a bigger role than anything. I am almost constantly in a caloric surplus, and I've been doing carb cycling. It's good sheeeet.
