British Scientists Say 2007 May Be Warmest Year In Recorded History.

An article was published by the Associated Press yesterday reporting that 2007's combination of El Nino and increased greenhouse gases (read: global warming) led British scientists to report a 60% Chance of 2007 becoming the warmest year in recorded history. We're talking way back here, probably like 700-800 years. 2006 managed to make it into the top ten (#6 World Wide). This is terrible, I live in Ohio and on at this point it's been over a month without seeing a drop of snow. I invested alot of green into skiing and I've gotten nothing. My friend saw a dandelion in his backyard yesterday. Our North Pole melted for the first time a few years ago, this is ridiculous people, but what can we do?

Check the article for your self.

Oh, people from Maine, we know you have snow. Please don't flood the thread.

i've been skiing 6 times only

it blows i went once over christmas break....

yeah it was 60 today here in CNY

It's just because of the elevated jet stream (El Nino). Global warming has very little to do with it. All the cold air is being kept out because of the jet stream. If it is supposed to be the warmest year, please enlighten us on the record snow falls out west.

El Nino affects us Brits a lot as most of our weather systems come over from South America/Carribean where the phenomenon develops. West Coast will be ok, EC is fucked!

just because it's getting warmer doesnt mean its too warm to snow. West is getting dumped on because warmer air holds more moisture....its still below freezing, but warmer with more snow...

and its called climate change anyways, global warming is a flawed term, because not everywhere will see a rise in temps.

i bought a seasons pass at blue mountain, and it has no park, st. louis had snow but today it melted unbelievably fast

this photo sums up my mood
