This winter, i'm going to British-Columbia and I would like to know where is the best powder, backcountry skiing and tree skiing. Make good suggestions please.
 
^ that and Quartz Ridge by Sunshine, and also the backside of Wawa Ridge at Sunshine. and there is some good stuff near Louise. and Castle is a must same with Fortress.
 
well its supposed to be a el nino year, so we're getting the shaft.

but for what youre saying... kicking horse, and some stuff in the okanagan
 
Believe it or not. Cypress has some of the best powder in BC. On an average dump Cypress gets 40% more than Whistler and Sky chair (the top) gets about 20% more than Gouse or Seymour. The only reason noone ever considers it the best is cause it doesnt retain the snow like Whistler. Oh, but the backcountry is fucking deadly, no joke.
 
It's snowing in whistler RIGHT NOW. It's down to midmountain. Crazy, considering that it was 32C 3 days ago.

The best snow is definetely in the Rockies. Fernie/Golden/Revelstoke area. Thats why the best cat/heli operations are around there. Whistler is the best and most convenient resort with amazing terrain, but the snow is fairly heavy.

nowhere near the setup of whistler, but when the pow is on, those four are the king shit.

Kicking horse on a powder morning is intense. If you havnt got 90mm under the foot, dont even get on the gondi
 
That was going to be my exact response. If you're in eastern BC, you might as well venture a few hours east and hit up Banff/Louise, too.
 
well the best powder in BC, Powder King no lies, kinda near prince george. But its not very steep and well its in the middle of fucking now where and has no village.
 
You obviously don't have the privledge of living here. I know every inch of the mountain abd the surrounding BC and not one inch of it can even compare to many other resorts in BC. Not too mention we get 176 measly inches of snow on a good year.
 
Kicking horse is really good, Lake Louise and Sunshine in Alb are good too. The snow is lighter and fluffier there. Whistler can be really good too, depending on if its snowing or raining.
 
although im personally going for nelson and red, I have asked someone who used to heliski everyday and such in that region and eventually he started going to aspen on vacations and he said that was the best place because of the temp and condition of the snow etc. So thats what he thinks.
 
As far as snow quality goes:

Utah > Colorado > BC Rockies > BC Okanagan > BC Coast Mountains.

But since we're just talking BC, go to the east and ski the rockies.
 
Whistler(hit up flute bowl, it's easy but really fun. Don't fuck around backcountry if you don't know where to go there.

before you go to whisler maybe you should check where all these people are from and find out how many other places they've skied and if they acctualy know what they're talking about. i see soo many threads that say "im coming to bc where should i go" with about 90% of responces going something like "O.M.G. WHISLER...duh so sick + deep!"

im not going to tell you where or where not to go because i honestly havent skied that many resorts, however i do live in the interior for reason. i urge you to look at the facts, not the hype, before you go off buying day passes for almost as much as i pay for a whole season or deciding to ski some where because the jounir high "locals" (who've at the most gone to 1 or 2 other mountains) think its great

go to reginal and cult forums for better all-be-it slightly more bias advice, and more importantly a real idea of how many dedicated riders live there purely for the snow.
