Bringing babes to the mountain

Can be really awesome, or really really really bad.

Depends on how much patience you both have. Better that than teaching her how to snowboard but still good luck and hope for the best.

I would bring a flask or a backpack of beers because you might need them. If she can't ski for shit and she's bitching at you, you're moving down the hill at 10 feet per half hour, the conditions are sick, the park looks epic but you're stuck there, you're gonna want some booze.

I'm thinking about leaving my current gf

she's 5'1 and I just can't imagine her skiing, bros with short gf's will know what i'm talking bout

It. Fucking. Sucks.

Unless she knows how to ski, and can keep up, it usually sucks.

She claims she can ski, and she said if i want to go into the park and lap and hike and shit she'll go do her own thing. Does this sound too good to be true?

Probably. If a girl hasn't raced or grown up in a mountain town, chances are "can ski" is 1 step above pizzaing down the hill and most likely sticking to blues.

I'm thinking I'll just play it by ear and if she sucks setting up some sort of "chairlift accident" murder thing would be cool right?

Having a girl stick to the blues and/or do her own thing while you shred the rest of the mtn or lap park is at least a hundred times better than trying to keep a townie happy. At least they understand.

Then she asks if you want to go skiing this weekend...

Downside is minimal dude. Yea might have to babysit for a day if it's worst case scenario, but then you're right back where you started.

Totally, or instead you could tell her to film you on a knuckle and you can "lose control" and decapitate her. Woops

In reality though what she said is to good to be true. I feel like any girl saying that to me would just not want to be shown up and put in a inferior position by following you around in the park. She says she is fine with it, but if you actually wind up splitting up and not skiing with each other she will probably be steaming later and not even admit why. It would be even worse if she doesn't have any friends to split up and go with. Might not be the end of the world if there are like a bunch of girls with her and they split off with her but I wouldn't even risk it.

No. Ride the lift with her up and then one more time. DO your thing and she does hers. Meet for lunch. After lunch ride the lift with her 2 more times. Do your thing. Days almost over and you have a last run or so. How hard is that?

This is spot on!

This is what I do with my boyfriend. We shred a few laps, he hits the park at the bottom, and regroup at the chairlift. Personally, I'm not one for rails, but by boys loves them. He does his thing, I do mine, and we still get to ski together.

Idk. When she says she'll go and do her own thing that could mean you're supposed to counter offer and say "No I'd rather ski with you all day" even though she's not saying that. IT could actually mean that she's fine with doing her own thing but who knows.

Girls are fucking cryptic.

I plan on bringing teaching my girlfriend to ski this season and this thread is not making me hopeful for success

The Mrs and I are going skiing for her first time ever in a couple weeks. Im pumped. i dont really care if she has a good time, im just excited to show her im the best motherfuckin skier on the entire motherfuckin mountain

Barto is an OG, I'm gonna give you guys a detailed overview when all is said and done on Sunday. If anyone's gonna be at blue mountain hit me up and come experience with me

honestly.. don't even try. If she doesn't already ski there is your biggest issue. I tried teaching my ex how to ski.. which is why I now refer to him as my ex.

My girlfriend actually got me back into skiing. She snowboards, and when we met last year in november she was all like "Lets go snowboarding" and I was like "Fuck that, I'm gonna start skiing again" and she was like "Cool" and I was like "Awesome".

So now we get a hotel room all the time and go skiing.

That would actually be a pretty cool shot if she doesn't suck at filming

my gf is crazy.

she is actually a decent skier (especially for someone skiing less than 15 days a year), and she will hit any feature if i say she should.

i took her to a pillow zone, and the first run was a bit scary for her.

second run she realized it s all soft snow and hit a 10ft cliff.

i tought her how to hit boxes and small jumps too.

it s really fucking fun skiing with her.

i dont think i would lap the park all day with her as it might bore her a bit, but she enjoy skiing pow so it s all good. :)

Love my girlfriend, and because of that I had fun sharing what I love with her. But it was definitely not a normal day. I was happy that we got off of the bunny hill....right into the slightly bigger bunny hill. Never really hit a real run. So in terms of a skiing day it sucked, but in terms of having fun with your girlfriend its awesome(as long as she is enjoying it).

If that's the case, she's a keeper!

For the most part, I've always been better than my bf's. One of them was definitely an intermediate skier and had issues with powder and didnt ski the trees which really wasnt a big deal to me because I could go do that stuff and then meet up later. Made the day so much better and he wasn't holding me back from having my fun.

I'm hoping she's a beast and will bomb with me, fingers crossed

wtf does this even mean?

i brought the gf skiing once and i spent the whole day answering questions, resetting her bindings, making up excuses why we couldnt go in for hot chocolate every 45mins and trying not to laugh when she ate shit.

one time she crashed so hard, her mitt fell off. her mitt! how the fuck does that even?

but the worst part is, now that i took her once, she wants to go every single time i go now. and that aint happening.

i go to ski, and to get the fuck away from her for a day.

therefore, even if she was good, its still time apart.

i guess when youre younger you look for things to do together, but when you are a bit older you look for things to do apart.

Not a fun time HAHAHAHA yeah if she wants a break she can take one and meet up later cause I'll be lapping. But I agree with that last part 100%

If you don't have the patience to teach then you sign them up for a lesson or two. Then you say you'll ski together after the lesson. It's so simple!

If they ask why take a lesson, you simply tell them you aren't a good instructor.

So many relationships could be saved this way.

I ski with guys that are better than me pretty often. All it takes is letting them know my comfort zone and asking them to show me a few things. Guys love showing off.

My gf can ride fairly well, enough that I don't have to worry about her. Its awesome because she is super independent and doesn't need me to be hanging around her all the time. She's perfectly happy for me to just lap the park and she will follow around and hang out.

Give it a couple feeler runs to see exactly what level she's at. You may have to sacrifice a little (I.e. Slow down, not as many park laps) so that you stay with her, but if you do that I'm sure she'll have no problem letting you take a few laps. My girl thankfully has skied since she was 2 and although she doesn't ski park she never holds me back if I tell her I want slide through the park. Plus it's always good to stomp shit in front of your female. You'll have fun man just bring some beers and some tree and enjoy the fact you've got a women who's down to shred.

Ha I know exactly what you mean. It's like when I want a sandwich but my girl doesn't give me one. You have hands wtf use them!

While she is skiing slow as hell down a run, use the time to practice your switch skiing. Sadly, you will still be skiing faster than her. Don't worry though, at least you can glance at her every now and again and watch how shitty she is at skiing.
