for those of you who dont know i post this thread a bit ago...
https://newschoolers.com/web/forums/readthread/thread_id/485263/

talkin bout how a kid become paralyzed and is suing brighton. so brighton doesnt know if they will be making jumps...

anyways, talked to Jared, the former park manager, and Mouse, the new park manager today about the situation. they said that brighton making jumps IS UP IN THE AIR. they dont know if they will or wont make jumps. the owner of brighton doesnt want brightons park to have any jumps, but the management at brighton does. i think Jared said that brighton will still be making spines, hips, etc. and increasing the number of rails and boxes, but will not be making step down jumps, such as the ones in my o my.

if you want brighton to make jumps email them. email them at info@brightonresort.com

say something along the lines of you wanting jumps and if brighton doesnt make jumps, you wont get your pass there, and if you already got your pass there, wont get a pass there next season.

holla. hope you all do the right thing and hope for the best for those that do ride at brighton.

thanks for reading and have a good season. its coming up fast!!!

be safe.

I hope they will make jumps for all kids up there. My home mountain (mont-saint-anne) don't make jump anymore since 2007 and it suck sooo much. the park is so boring rail after rail it's always the same thing. it's still fun but it miss a little something. We want our jump back!

we have had like three kids die in the past few years at my hill down state

so they are extending the park to be bigger this year with more jumps

Considering the jumps at brighton are dangerous and terribly built i'd say they should get rid of them. If they want to build jumps, do it correctly or more people are going to get hurt. They have the technology, pretty good cats as well as a sick pipe dragon. But they just dick around.

ya man i remember the last year they had their park. You would see life flight there once or twice a week.

My mountain is only making true tables (the ones that look like a battleship rail if you look at them from the side) and step-over jumps cause of a similar situation, they kinda suck, but they're safer and if you go fast at them you get just as much air time. You may want to suggest making those.

Build sound, safe jumps, and keep them in prime condition, with frequent maintenance / testing and documentationt. Pretty much all of these lawsuits involve one of those parts missing.

wooorrrrdddd. Their jumps blow, but so does most everything else about their parks, just because its not taken seriously anymore. The pipe especially is a complete joke, its like an icy ditch with no transition at all from the walls to the middle.

I hate step downs.

When Jon Olsson retires from skiing, he needs to go on a tour of every country and teach every resort how to build step overs

I just sent an email as a tourist. We come out west...for this shit. Where does it end? Do we start shutting trails down because they are too avy prone, or just dangerous for dumb skiers? Why not make everything a 17 mile long green run while we're at it too?

This is refuckingdiculous, I cannot believe Brighton and the ski industry in general....doesn't have better lobbiest and lawyers fighting for them.

Yes they need lobbiest. State by state, or park by park things can get ruined by liability. Give the people what they want, watch them abuse it, and hurt themselves...and then sue you for providing it to them.
