Apparently up at Brighton today a group of dudes stole like $16,000 worth of people's skis, poles, and boards from the racks right in front by the lodge. Anybody else hear anything about this?
 
Saw it on the news. Doubt they get caught at this point but if they do, they need to be castrated with the dull edges of the gear they took.
 
How do you grab that much gear without someone noticing? i mean it must have been over the course of the day with a lot of people involved, but still.
 
im sure tons of ski shops/used sports stores in the slc/surrounding areas will be notified, hopefully at least something turns up. thats some bad fuckin karma right there. they'll wrap themselves around trees eventually.
 
That's so shitty. I met someone out there who got his skis stolen, I had no idea the scale of what was going on. There's some things you just can't take, and a person's skis are one of them.
 
thats fucked. whoever stole all that stuff needs to get crushed by a boulder the next time they come up the canyon. as someone who has had skis stolen, its the worst feeling.
 
I could easily be brought to tears if i saw my hellbents were gone. Well i hope the guys get caught and locked up. People can really be greedy pieces of shit.

so check ksl for your skis? thats such a bummer and they probably won't be riding them if they took that much stuff and if they are selling them that seems easy to spot but that is just so lame.

what do you do to keep your skis safe? i know some people split them and put them in different racks or something.

I keep my skis safe by not taking my eye's off of them. I rarely if ever take my skis off at Brighton. I don't feel sorry for anyone who gets ski's jacked. It's your fault really, but I'd still help beat the shit out of anyone who stole skis however.
 
yea i have that lock, pretty simple and easy. I disagree with the whole idea its someones fault their skis get stolen. Sure be aware, but its BS that someone would need to be on edge just using the bathroom in the lodge or something.
 
your a fuckin retard. sorry some of us like to kick back, drink some beers and mellow out and not watch our skis like a hawk. going in to get some food and coming out to skis gone should never happen. period. saying its their fault is completely asinine
 
I rarely let my skis out of my sight. You gotta be on your shit because other shady people probably want your skis. Not saying it's anyone's fault, but it's preventable. I carry my shit in with me ALWAYS at brighton. Highest amount of younger people = highest amount of assholes with no respect for other people's shit. it's the way the world works.

that said, if I ever see someone riding austin's skis at brighton, I am whooping the FUCK out of them.

My note will be something along the lines of - So I read in the newspaper that a reported dozen+ ski/snowboards were stolen at the base of Brighton and I see that at the same time you were arresting pot smokers. Does this seem like the right message you want to send to tourists? Watch us lock-up the potheads you can't even find/see............while your shit gets ganked.

Had a pair of skis scarfed at alpine valley in probaly 81 fuckin killed me and I was so irate I almost ended up in jail for being a dick. Last time it aint rocket science split or lock. nug the shop bro up and take inside eat smoke and drink on those high speed thing peein the woods.

these aint real smart or take the time to wonder around with one ski lookin for a mate. smash& grab in and out possibly a meth couple maybe smart enough to dress like they belong makin laps lookin non chalant or it could be a large group.

You guys should pull your own sting I reccomend the willie mays louiville slugger as a good citizen arrest tool.

Dudes in the shop are splittin boards and pretty good at it. and are damn good techs.

ski shops got some sweet faction, rossi and some sick libertys those dudes build a pretty bomber ski. corrupt and a few others and some sweet demo boards.

you would probably want to just find the non emergency number to the station.otherwise they would probably tell you to go fuck yourself.
 
just a note on police jumping peoples cars. They really aren't allowed to because jumping another car can mess up the electronic equipment in their car, computers, lights, radio ect... i do think they should carry around one of those portable jumping things that runs on a battery or call someone who can. police cant even jump other police cars
