Brighton anyone?

I'm transferring to the University of Utah in the spring, most of my friends are boarders and they ride at Brighton. I thought I'd check some ns opinions, I know they have a good park, but how is the rest of the terrain at Brighton? Do they have BC style lines, good pow spots, tree riding etc? I need some skier input

I dunno who told you they had a good park, but that is completely false. Their park is TERRIBLE, their other terrain is legit, there isn't that much compared to alta and snowbird. I highly recommend you ski PC for park and alta/snowbird for pow, or even snowbasin or powder mountain if you're down to drive. You will be very sorry if you want to ski park and only ski brighton.

I can afford one season pass, and based on last years snowfall in Utah, im looking for having fun in the pow over park, and I ride with boarders alot, so Snowbird prob right?

Yeah, snowbird will have a couple features probably too. Brighton has some good terrain and if all of your friends ride there then you might just want to do that. But then convince them to go to PC the next year. You can def still shread pow at PC. Also look at The Canyons for a mix of pow and park, probably the mountain with the best mix of pow and park.

if you just got one, i would suggest canyons... brightons cool if most of your boys are going there... snowbird's terrain/snow is super legit but sometimes its soo fucking crowded with assholes from jersey and texas... id say its between those three.

It sounds like Snowbird is what you're looking for, lots of terrain and good snow. It's too bad Alta is still Nazi with snowboarders, it's really my fav mtn. However, I've never skied Brighton, I've always wondered about the terrain there.

I went to the U and skied Brighton for four years. You will have a blast at Brighton, its less crowded than Little Cottonwood and gets 150 inches more snow than PC/Canyons. Brighton has killer back country access even if you don't want to hike. When I was there their college season pass was cheap and it wasn't touristy.

Haha, the bird is sick but you're right about the crowds at times, out of state yuppies with chums, popped collars and one pieces who ski once a yr all over the place. Alta is a great mtn, amazing snow. PC really is the tits for park, no contest. I've only been to Brighton once, and I didn't really know my way around, but I think it has potential.

big cottonwood in general is empty compared to little cottonwood, brighton is no alta but its way less crowded and still sick as fuck

The park at Brighton sucks for sure, but I had some of my deepest pow days last year their, they have some of the most legit pillow lines in the canyons. If you can only get one pass, Brighton would be dope, their park is OK, nothing compared to PC or Canyons, but their balance of POW to Park is better than snowbird or solitude for sure.

their park isnt amazing... but its pretty fun to mess around in.... and occasionally they set up some really fun and creative features. Its defiantly not pc. The jumps are pretty small too haha... still keeps you busy tho

Brighton's rail features are ok, nothing amazing but its still definately possible to have fun. They have a dfd rail that is nice, and the up mailbox was fun last year. But the jumps suck pretty bad. They are way too small to do any real tricks with style. On the other hand they do have a few sick cliff/cornice zones that look super fun.

Snowbird has a terrible park, way smaller jumps than even brighton (like 5' tables) and maybe 2 usable jibs which are still tiny. The cliff and pow scene is obviously ill.

idk about next year but last season and the one before snowbird didn't have much of a park, like 2 rails, 1 or two small jumps and a couple boxes, so if you wanna ride park don't count on snowbird. however it is a phenomenal skiiers mountain, lots of fresh snow and little pockets of awesomness and challenge.
hope that helped :)
