Breckenridge or Mammoth

Hey I was just wondering which mountain wins it in terms of park, and just general experience. I've heard that breck kills it in terms of jumps but Mammoths got some nice jib features, but that could be wrong.

I would personally say breck because you can hit their perfect jumps all day then go night ski at keystone and hit some of the sickest rails ever

There is definitely no nutty cliffs, insane pillow lines or bottomless pow at Mammoth. Only sick jibs.

ya last year was pretty bad... but crested butte purgatory silverton and the rest of the southern mountains werent to bad.... CB has some sick ass lines

yea breck seems to be killin it in this convo. I would assume condos by the mountain would be rather expensive but cant tell ya for sure.

Are you guys kidding Mammoth has some of the sickest backcountry ever if you have a sled and snow most of the year cant hurt anything

I have only been to breck once in December so it is hard for me to judge their terrain and I live in mammoth so I biased. The terrain in mammoth is really fun and you can ride June for free with your Mammoth pass for crowded days. Mammoth has killer parks with really nice jumps and jibs. I feel they do not get too creative with jibs at mammoth but they have a large amount of fun jibs. June mountain get much more creative with jibs and turns trash into cool features. There is a new park manger this season so some things might change a little but mammoth is rad. I have no plans to leave.

mammoth wins, overall setup is just better. anyone who tells you otherwise is bias and plain dumb. breck is packed constantly, and has no flow b/c of that. just a line of people waiting to hit each feature like your at preseason a-basin.

Never been to Breck. Mammoth is well....pretty mammoth. They have perfect jumps but I've never seen anything too nutty there as far as jibs go. Theres this chair at Mammoth that kills it so hard on pow days I think its chair 22.

been to breck once and grew up on mammoth so im obviously biased but anyone who says mammoth is lame has never been there.

we had so many pow days last year it was insane. the parks are always incredible, and next year with the two landing pads its going to be even more sick.

also it doesnt get too crowded in the park because theres so many and theyre so big. i have rarely had a bad time and there is always somewhere to go on the mountain and shred without crowds

Sounds like you have a dispute with them. because what you said is in no way true. CB's steeps are amazing, and they get plenty of pow.

no i just shredded there years ago and they dont' get nearly as much snow as you'd think. The mountains around CB get dumped on but CB itself doesn't get much at all. I have a grudge because they fired a couple of my bros for no good reasons after working there for awhile. Just complete disrespect and I refuse to support their business anymore when the backcountry is so much better and gets twice the amount of snowfall.

you are so stupid. I have done 3 seasons in mammoth and i went to breck for 3 weeks last season right at the end and i can tell you dead straight that breck is so much better than mammoth its a joke. Mammoth jumps are so shit they do not flow at all, they go from mellow 30ftrs to randomly 60ft stepdowns and they are built so shit.
Breck on the other hand, has every single feature you could ever imagine with a park crew that is by far the best in the world. The jumps are the best jumps i have ever hit and i have skiid just about everywhere worth talking about
Anyone who says mammoth most likely is some gaper who lives in Cali or some retard who hasnt skiid park for 10 years

Yes because my karma is entirely relevant to the fact that you didn't understand his sarcasm. You, sir, are a complete and utter baffoon.

Better for park, or better all-around?

Mammoth destroys Breck in terms of terrain. It is a much better mountain, hands down.

The guy who started the thread talked about park, so in that case, maybe Breck is better.

If you pick a mountain based only on park, well I guess that is up to you.

well its no argument that breck and key have the best maintained parks in the world, hands down. breck especially for jumps. but i hate how its set up, its crowded all the time w/ a bunch of douchebags high on themselves.

i guess im more of a take a whole run w/o really stopping kind a guy vs hitting a feature, waiting in line, hitting a feature, waiting in line, or hiking a feature all day. makes you feel like your skiing a hill instead of a mountain.

taking first run through key or brecks park early morning is pretty dope though, everything is so perfectly manicured.

and btw, summit county's snow blows, lowest annual snowfall out of the entire rockies

Please explain what I would be ignorant of?

If you notice, I did not criticize anyone for picking a mountain based only on park, if they want to do so that is their business.

CBMR does suck and no the resort doesnt get pooped on but that terrain is second to none if technical steep sheet is your business

MAMMOTH for the win. I grew up in skiing in Colorado, now ski at Mammoth. Overall Mammoth is better ...plus the ski season lasts until July 4th....

I gotcha. Sorry about that, read it wrong.

For what it's worth if someone does want to pick a mountain that way....Whatever, but they are missing out.

I have thought "I wish I was skiing pow" while making park laps, but I don't think I have ever thought "I wish I was skiing park" while making pow laps.
