Breck to Have 22 foot Pipe

Yikes. If you ski Breck, pretty sure you're over being watched. Place is a zoo. & where I come from in the midwest 1/10 in the park are gapers... Who are you? Always hatin.

I need to stop posting on NS when I'm intoxicated. I go way overboard even when I'm not mad. HAHA. I'm sorry Shadows. But really who cares if people watch you? At least they're not tackling you.

Double post. Oops. My sober posts are nice, promise.

I just saw you're from Marquette Mountain. I've never been there, but I know people who ride there and I've heard everyone there slays. I also heard that area gets a shit ton of snow. You are blessed to be from one of the best in the Midwest... most aren't so lucky. ;-)

worked for park crew there, they are doing a 22fter this season, bringing the pipe up higher becuase there isnt enough pitch where it used to be. should be a fresh design to freeway now though, something diffferent, hopefully just as sick.

Some pictures from this past season at Breck:

Brecks triple line in freeway during 2009 dew tour (jumps 55-70 feet), can kind of see placement of pipe on left corner of pic

Snowboarder practice run in Pipe dew tour 2009

Thanks. I feel like I should have run into you by now with mutual midwest status & copper.

Cheers to Breck! Copper 22" (which was present for half the season last year) will be up and running by Thanksgiving again. Snow making starts in 15 days.

Copper announced 15 days this morning... I think. I was half asleep when I got to work ~ F driving from Blue River in the mornings. I can't speak for what the other mountains are doing. My email sends me pretty much only Vail Corp crap and Copper info.

the jumps will still be there in the place of the old pipe and reach up to the new pipe.

they are also talking about a 4 line of jumps in freeway and the jumps will not be any worse or smaller because of this change.

Breck was voted #1 jumps so they would never sacrifice their awesome jumps for the halfpipe but they believe they can have both and have each be even better. they're goin for best overall park.

4 jump line? I'm actually kind of disappointed. I prefer two jump lines like they had is Park Lane last year. I can do something easy (straight air, 360) on the first jump then try a difficult/new trick on the second jump. This way I can try new tricks, but don't have to worry about falling and missing the opportunity to hit one or more of the jumps.

The jumps in park lane will def be there and will be awesome for trying new stuff and what not. But in freeway i think they are going to have their usual bigg line but just start it off with like a 40 ft set up booter. and none of this is completely decided yet so we'll just wait and see what they have come november.

Vail wanted to trade with heavenly who had a 22 foot cutter and did not use it. I think maybe Breck did that instead. Unless they got another different one. But Vail needs to do work before they get a 22 anyways. The current spot is not going to work for a 22. They spent lots of money doing dirt work for the current pipe so they are hesitant to move the pipe after they spent all the money.

i really hope they just keep it 3, the 4 wasnt very good two years ago when they did it. first one sucked balls, then the normal three were their usual perfect self. just keep it three with a rail option up top, i liked the blue flat down up there in the past.

Mammoth has had mini (10 or 12ft?), Super (18ft) and Super Duper (22ft) pipes for years now. Since at least 06/07, maybe a year or two earlier.

In other news, sources say Keystone will NOT have a halfpike this year. Instead they are going to have another jump line where the old pipe was and the I70 lane will extend almost all the way to the bottom. Good call I say...

Well sir, I do not agree. I love skiing the pipe. I'm sure many others do too. You are probably just saying this because you are bad at skiing in the pipe. Maybe if you took the time to actually learn how to ski it then you would enjoy it a lot more. Stop being such a negative nancy.

I don't really care about them getting rid of their pipe as it has always sucked donkey balls and extending their I70 I70 jump line is awesome but I'm not sure about adding the new jump line. Will anyone use them?

which is roughly 3 days out of the whole year. Other than that, Dew tour is probably the only time a lot of people will use it the whole season

I70 is not the jump line, thats called Main Street or the big line, I70 is the rail line above/ to the left of the big line, and if they put a jump line in where the halfpipe used to be, I will use them.

Its called READING, maybe you've heard of it? Its all the rage really... she WORKED for Breck... During which Breck has been top rated. Insults are cool when they make sense.

Haha. Girl Bashing is the COOLEST thing, right next to your snowblade picture. Take your hating elsewhere. I will stay at Copper, at least we don't have an abundance of ignorance that you put out. I believe you can take these rants to other threads about girls skiing and lets keep this one about a 22" pipe. Pretty sure girls raking have NOTHING to do with a pipe. (fun fact, Copper's pipe has been cut by a woman for the past so many years. chew on that).

This isn't about girl hating, this is fact stating. Why would you want a girl on park crew when she can't comfortably hit the jumps?
Fun fact, who gives a shit about copper's pipe?
Moving to Summit County for Copper is like moving to Summit County for the girls.

Lots of people care about Copper's pipe... and not everyone is here to be a park rat. I work at copper = copper pass = ski copper. this really isn't brain surgery. Do you personally know Sheltron? Have you personally skied with her? Until you have, you really can't judge her skiing. this is really a mute point... you can keep retaliating to these posts if you want but you are only making yourself resemble an 18 yr old east coast asshole (who pokes fun at the midwest? really? low and lame). I'm pretty surprised you haven't asked why there's a computer in my kitchen...

I don't know what a mute point is. You mean a moot point? Maybe you should help yourself to one of those mediocre Boulder educations.
All girls skiers in summit county are the same, they have muffin tops and think they are awesome pros because they can throw an ungrabbed 720s and know several b level pros on a first name basis because they blew them one night.

I was in the gifted program in high school and graduated when I was 16. I was offered a free ride scholarship to the University of British Columbia but declined. The college I go to has nothing to do with my IQ. I go to CMC because I have more time to do what I am passionate about. =)

P.S. It would be "no" relevance. ;-)

Haha. Yah, I meant "moot"... I already have an education (obviously not in english or in paying attention), thanks a lot, I don't need Boulder. But to further your blunt stabs in the dark - I don't have a muffin top and I don't know any pros period, let alone blown any of them :)

This was about a pipe right?? someone please remind me that we were talking about a pipe??

Wow you must be really fucking smart, too bad you're parents are dumb enough to drop 10 grand a semester for you to learn the same amount of knowledge that you could get from sniffing glue in a parking lot.
Nothing more hypocritical than the intelligence elitist at CMC.
You want to learn the same amount, have more time to ski and spend 1% of the money? Take online community college classes from your local cc. They will be easy to transfer, cost $20/unit, require the same level of effort, and have the same retarded teachers/students.

Our family owns Kraft, yeah, like the cheese. And my parents are doctors... so we're prettyy fucking loaded... money's not an issue. HA! They believe in enjoying life and following what you are passionate about, that is how we as humans are most successful. =) I don't see any waste in being happy, healthy, and loved. I'm going to CMC because I enjoy interacting and meeting people in a social environment. There are fantastic kids at CMC with like interests and kind hearts.

But you're getting pretty off topic now in your quest to feel tough, sir Troll. Not everyone hates everything that breathes like you. This thread was about a 22' halfpipe at Breck. Keep it on topic, eh? ;-)

dang...helluva rant...

agreed, i hit jumps for a long time, but ive hand many knee surgeries so i dont do jumps anymore.

ive been on park crews across the country for 7 years now, thats a decent amount of experience in the ski industry, and park crew especially. no that doesnt make me an expert on how to throw a double, but i sure as shit know how to maintain them for all of you, and i think that people should be aware that park crew gets out on the hill before the sun rises to rake off all the snow so the jumps/ rails are hittable, even if its 15 inches. i am not asking for recognition or respect (especially since i am a female in a completely male dominated industry), i am asking you to be a little more conscious of what your park crew does for you and not to hate if a member cant hit a feature becuase they are scared of injury. i have been up there with many crews when they have to hit a 70 ft freeway jump in the infamous 50mph breck wind, lips are ice, landing is ice...and these testers and park crew are required to hit this feature first thing in the moring, 7am, even though we know its dangerous, becuase thats our job, is to make sure jumps are safe for you all...if they arent, we close them or rake them to make em safe. I have had a lot of experience in jump construction and maintenance, and nope, i sure as hell dont want to do what those testers have to do at 7am every morning before we open. I'll stick to raking and digging.

dont hate, seriously, now lets get back to this half pipe eh, that what we are all here to find out.

If your family owns kraft why the fuck are they doctors. You'd think they would devote their time to running "kraft". You just sound like a rich snob. Go live in boulder, you'd fit in better.

I'm not a rich snob, at all. My friends, family, and dogs are my life, I love traveling to volunteer in third world countries, and I live just like any other kid in Colorado. I know how blessed I am and I'm thankful for it everyday. I got my first job at McDonalds when I was 14 and have worked ever since. You'd never know I was rich unless I told you. The troll called my parents dumb, and said we were wasting money, I was trying to make HIM mad and get him to shut up. Clearly I upset more than one person, so I apologize. And it's an extended family owned business, that doesn't mean my parents run it.

Dude, that is so awesome that your parents own a huge publicly traded company...
I own Coke. I know what you are thinking, "no individual owns coke", but I personally hold 51% of the stock which is worth around 66 billion dollars. This seems like a lot but your family is apparently worth about 28 billion so you understand how it is.
