Breck to Have 22 foot Pipe

Is that sarcasm? Because it will be the first one in Summit County (except for the one Copper had briefly last year for the Grand Prix).
Also, I seem to remember seeing some construction looking stuff on the upper part of Freeway, I hope they don't make it so that you have to choose between jumps or pipe.

They had one for some of last season but not most. They were using the Aspen cutter. However, apparently Copper just bought one so they too will have a 22 footer all season.

the one at my mountain is huge its olympic height which i guess is 22 feet and barely get like 4 feet out of it. its also very poorly mantained and gets in real bad condition because all the gapers just ride straight through it

I believe that the pipe at MSLM is 22feet and thats in ontario. I can't believe that it has taken a hill like breck this long.

I generally find that people who hate pipe just suck at skiing and can't hold an edge/ski outside of the park.
You profile pics of you on rails/jumps don't make me think that you are defying this trend.

its about time. fuck that gaper line on the fence being all nosy and shit. just let me hit the jumps god damn.

Mammoth has had that shit forever. What a waste of money though, pipes are so useless to most park riders.

Haha, I love those guys. Someone can do a switch 14 and get a few murmers then someone else will backflip and the shit hits the fan.

Maybe they plan on putting it on the left side like a few years ago, I don't see it improving the sweet flow Freeway had.

Dude shut the fuck up. Be fucking happy they don't go down freeway. Try riding in the midwest where 9/10 people ARE gapers in the park. Sounds like you can't handle people watching you eat shit.

i wanna see a pipe with 30 ft walls, and then push the dudemont down it. it would be bananas!

I love that gaper line are you kidding, they stay out of the park and you get to see people get stoked on your tricks. We are all showoffs, I love that shit.

And not once have I ever been concerned with the noise of gapers haha.

breck has tons of snow? what are you talking about? the pipe is 100% blown, not natural at all, same with all the jumps.

and sorry for dub post but am I the only one that doesnt understand why they cant keep it where it was and make it 22 feet?

Well, 22 footers need to be longer for one because the longer tranny eats up more length and their current pipe was only 4-5 hits to start with. Also, maybe they wanted it steeper.

Agreed...

Has anyone confirmed that they're pushing it up though... or is this just an assumption?

With a 22'er they may have to widen as well as lengthen. Maybe there just wasn't enough room down there? Either way, I still think the pipe was perfect the way it was. Can't say I blame them for wanting to cater to the big dogs. I just hope the mini pipe is bigger this year or that's going to be a huge gap. A mini, regular, and super would be prime... but now I'm just talking crazy.
